A unit study guide for San Francisco Smugglers
Posted in Giveaways and Contests
For anyone who would like to get more "mileage" out of the latest book, San Francisco Smugglers, I figured out how to host the free e-book (pdf file) I created (38 pages). You click and download. Simple. I had so much fun writing the unit study guide that I want to share it. The guide includes discussion questions, geography (maps), writing Chinese characters, designing a poster, opportunities for extended writing, a picture of the levees in Fresno, vocabulary and Old West figures of speech, and a bonus (you gotta love this one): an entire page devoted to links of a dozen or more pictures from the real Chinatown and greater San Francisco of the late 1800s. Alleys like the one our heroines find themselves in, the opening to the underground parts of Chinatown, little Chinese kids playing, how they're dressed, and Nob Hill and the cable cars. Just click and you'll see them.

Just over to check out the new unit study booklet. I thought I'd sign in with Joy's blog this time. She started Reach for the Stars but I need to look at what she's done so far.
I had to take N8 to an appt. so left her with assignments Monday. Yesterday was my birthday so we went to the country and did fun country things. Then went to dinner. I'm catching up today.

Nov. 13, 2008 - Unit study

Hi, I happened on your blog and am really excited about your books! I host a book club for my daughter and I thought your book would be a wonderful choice, but I have a few questions. Do you have a unit study to go along with the first three books? I found the unit study for the fourth book. Is it recommended to read the books in order? Thanks a million! jamie
