This is where Andi Carter, the main character of the Circle C Adventures series for kids, shares about her life and adventures in the Old West of the 1880s.

Thank you, Joy, for sending in a picture of you enjoying San Francisco Smugglers, and also for writing your thoughts about the book. I've posted it below for everyone to enjoy.
Andi Carter and her family live in the San Joaquin Valley, California. It was
winter 1881, when twelve year old Andi is told that she will have to move to
San Francisco to live with her Aunt Rebecca. That meant Andi had to leave
all her friends, family, the ranch and her best friend, Taffy!
It all started on a Sunday morning during a church service. The levee broke
and water was running straight for the town! All the men went to work, but the
water flooded most of the town. School had to close for two months because
the schoolhouse had mud in it.
Mrs. Carter, Andi's mother, decided that Andrea will have to move in with her Aunt
Rebecca and go to Miss Whitaker's Academy for Young Ladies in San Francisco.
Andi was furious when her mother told her! Andi didn't want to leave; she wanted
two whole months of no school. But no, she had to go to San Francisco, and so
began a great adventure!
Andrea Carter and the San Francisco Smugglers is another amazing book
written by Susan K. Marlow. It is full of adventures; I couldn't stop reading it! I re-
commend Andrea Carter and the San Francisco Smugglers to every girl of any age.
You will like iit. I know I did!

I've been tagged...twice
Posted in Fan Posts
This is unbelievable. Just when I thought I'd escaped the "bullet" I have been tagged twice---over here as Andi and over at SuzyScribbles also. I was tagged by Caitlin98. Here are the rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- Write six random things about yourself.
- 'Tag' six-or-so other people at the bottom of your post-
- And leave comments on their blogs letting them know they've been tagged.
- Let the person who tagged you know when you've written the post.
Six random things about myself. O...K... Here goes . . .
1) I can't shoot straight, even though my brother Chad has tried over and over to teach me. This is a good skill to have if you come face to face with a mountain lion. But what if you can't shoot straight? I think I'll be dead in that case.
2) I absolutely despise beef jerky. This is also a disadvantage, as it stores well on the trail. But I'd rather eat rattlesnake (quite good, actually) than a hunk of dried jerky. *she shudders*
3) I know how to pan for gold, but it takes too long to find enough to get rich.
4) My favorite food is biscuits and jam.
5) I speak Spanish, but I can't read or write it.
6) When I grow up I want to be a cowboy, but my mother told me girls can't be cowboys.
Now, I tag other hapless victims: *rubs hands together in glee*

Oh, I could go on and on, but I shan't burden anyone else with a tag.

A Young Circle C Fan
Posted in Fan Posts
This is an unusual entry, as I usually try to keep the posts something about happenings on the "ranch" and other fun things. But I saw a young reader at the W.A.T.C.H. homeschool conference this last weekend, who had just bought a book at the Salt Shaker bookstore where I was signing books. I happened to look across the exhibit hall and there she was--she'd plopped herself down in the middle of the hall and started reading the new book, San Francisco Smugglers. I think she was waiting for her sisters to finish dressing up in the Bible Dress-up booth.
It was a photo moment for sure, so I grabbed my camera and snapped a picture. Now these are poses I like to see!
I think I might add a new "category" (Fan pics), where you can send me a picture of you doing something like reading the books and/or spreading the "news" about the Circle C Adventures. Or any little "fun" things, like if you win a contest. I'd love to post your pictures, so just e-mail them to me and I'll post them.
