Plastic Covered Couches and Boring Slide Shows
Life here hasn't been all that exciting and thus not blog writing worthy. Not to say that I'm bored or have nothing to do. I just thought I'd spare you all the boring details. LOL.
Random thought...
Do any of you have memories of sitting in some distant relatives basement watching boring slide shows of people you hardly don't even know and what they did on vacation??
I do. I remember going over to my grandparents house every once in a GREAT while and watching slide shows of the many trips they took ( thus the reason I considered them 'distant' relatives).
I remember sitting on the plastic ( yes, I said plastic) covered couches and listening to the quiet hum of the slide projector. I can also remember the clicking noise it made each time my grandfather would go to the next slide.
This to me is one of those memories that you could laugh to your belly hurt because it was SO painful that it was funny. There wasn't even SOUND, just my grandfather talking about their trip.. though he was a man a few words so a lot of it was left up to the imagination.
And the couches!! Oh goodness. You couldn't really lay down on them because the plastic was so slippery, you'd slide right off. So keep from sliding, you'd hang one leg off and plant your foot firmly on the floor to keep yourself on the couch.
Ahh... the good old days...
Why am I rambling on about this... I'm not really sure. It was just one of those memories that pooped into my brain as I sat down at the computer and so I decided to blog it..
Do you have any memories of plastic covered couches and boring slide shows?

A Family That Wii Fit's Together, Stays Together
We are having SOO much fun with our Wii Fit. All four of us now have our own little profile and fitness plan.
I'm telling you. The Wii Fit is like having a sarcastic trainer right in your own home. When my DH didn't get on for a couple of days, it made a smart remark about him not coming back in a couple days. It's kind of scary that it keeps track that well.
One of our family members, who will remain nameless, has been lacking in the Wii Fit activities lately. So this morning when I turned it on, I got to see this:
As you can see.. one of my princesses is alseep.. Too Funny.
My oldest princess and I have a little friendly family competition going on. She has been doing AWESOME at getting up in the morning and doing her exercising. So when I get going, I try to beat whatever score she has going. She does really well in the Ski Jumping and the balancing games, but as of today.. I have her beat in the Hula Hooping division.
Here is a little sample of me doing the Hula Hoop. My youngest is filming but I made her swear on her own life that she wouldn't film me from behind.. just the Mii me. LOL.
So if I'm not on here blogging and commenting.. you'll know where I am

Soggy Around The Edges, But Doing Ok
Tropical Storm Fay is gone! PTL!!
We are a little soggy around the edges ( just outside) and praising GOD for His protection!
There has been a lot of flooding in local areas though. Almost worse then when we had four hurricanes in one year! It must have been because she hung around for SOOO long.
The cabin fever is slowly subsiding. We were all a little nippy with each other today, which I'm chalking up to being cooped up together for so long, so we're looking forward to going to church tomorrow and maybe some other places OUTSIDE.
Thanks for all the prayers and notes of concern.
Hopefully we'll be back to normal, humid, hot, and crazy Florida life next week.

Wordless Wednesday

This radar picture switches so it probably won't show Tropical storm Fay anymore. But we have been sitting all curled up on the couch, eating canned food and enjoying some old movies.
What better way to pass A COUPLE days of rainy weather then to veg out on the couch and watch old movies. We love Cary Grant so our line up so far is Arcenic and Old Lace and Bringing up Baby.
Keep all the people in Debary, Florida in your prayers. They are REALLY suffering with flood issues. And the St. John's River hasn't even crested in that area ya.
