Praising God

I went to Monkeyboy's blog today and found that he was doing something great! Instead of posting comments about his blog entry, he wants people to go post praises about God! Go do it!

Here's what I posted:

One of my favorite quotes from Rick Warren is "You never know God is all you need until God is all you have."
Sometimes it seems that when times are good, our egos tell us we can rely on our own power. And when the going gets tough, we finally remember WHY we put God in control of our lives- we're pretty stupid and helpless without Him. Everyday I'm so thankful and humbled that God would love someone like ME! And love me enough to die for me. So I guess this is a praise that God loves us, no matter where we are, or what we've done.

Faith while facing the future

As of Monday I will have exactly 2 school years until I am legally on my own and responsible for my life... That's a little scary, right? I think I know what college to go to, but if I major in music instead of psychology I will go to ANOTHER college instead. And the only way I can afford my top choice is to get incredibly good scores on the PSAT in October. It's a one-time chance, and it's scary. I really want, no, NEED to go to a Christian college- not just affiliated with religion, but one that thrives on God. My dad doesn't understand this... sigh... but as I become an adult I want to be somewhere that pushes me to be closer with God, instead of stayin out all night going to keg parties and getting high.

But I struggle with having faith just in my regular life, so it's so hard for me to have it about my future. Please tell me someone else struggles with this... sigh.

School *sigh*

Here's all the stuff I'm doing this year. If I ever read another comment about homeschoolers being stupid or social hermits...

Junior Year (upperclassman, woot woot!)

-English III: Composition
Learn to Write the Novel Way
Jensen's Grammar/Punctuation
Required Reading

-U.S./World History
The 2nd half of Beautiful Feet's U.S./World History

-Math: Precalculus
I WAS going to use Teaching Textbooks until I found out last minute they only completed the textbook and answer key. As it is, I probably still will use TT, just because they realize not everyone in the world is a math genius (I don't get it, ma!)

-Science: Human Anatomy
I WAS going to do Physics but decided I'd rather sleep in a zoo exhibit filled with pit vipers. Yay! I don't have to do it- I'm doing Apologia Human Anatomy instead.

-Spanish
Rosetta Stone AND looking for an outside class. I really want to go with my church to Paraguay this summer so it would be a great prep for that.

-Bible

-Music

-Journalism
I'm on the yearbook staff and I get credit for that.

-Psychology
I can't WAIT til this class. I'm using Psychology and You (don't ask me who wrote it, I have no idea).

-Finances
Various Larry Burkett books.

-Driver's Ed
Yay!

Extracurricular Activities:

-Church
3x week

-Choir/Ensemble
1x week

-Honor Society (Service Coordinator)
1x month

-Yearbook (Ad/Student Life Editor)
1x week

And then all my voice lessons and performances and stuff.

I'd love to see what everyone else is doing! Post on your blogs!

About Me

Yahoo! Avatars
I'm a Christian homeschool junior who is deeply involved in church. I've had the honor of singing at many different places, and I hope to one day combine my love of music and my burden for the people of India to create teen conferences in Asia.

What I Believe

I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He died the most brutal death, so that I wouldn't have to. I believe He rose again on the third day.
I believe that because I have accepted his gift of salvation, the Holy Spirit is within me.
I believe that God considers me His daughter, and if I confess my sins to Him, He will be faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
I believe that when I am no longer alive on earth, I will be in Heaven, where I will finally come face to face with my Lord.

I believe that God wants you to accept His gift of eternal life.

I believe that as daughters of God we are all beautiful.
I believe that dating frivolously often leads to heartbreak and impurity.
I believe that Christian teens need to make a stand and stop conforming. If I asked your peers about your faith, would they even know what you believed?
I believe that the only way to know God's will for your life is to read His Word.
