Interview on Jesus Geek Podcast

10:35 AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 ... Posted in Classical Astronomy News

I was interviewed last night on John Wilkerson's "Jesus Geek" podcast.  John is a Christian homeschool dad who does this regular podcast on science, technology, the space program and all manner of other geeky subjects, covering the topics from a Christian point of view.  As a long-time geek myself, I'm sure other homeschool dads would also enjoy John's program.

In our interview, John and I discussed my various activities in astronomy education, including the Classical Astronomy Update and my current astronomy curriculum project.  We also discussed what is meant by "Classical Astronomy" and my vision for sharing with Christian homeschoolers the lost secrets of this once-common field of science.  If you ever wanted some background info on the Update, you might want to catch this interview.

If you're not familiar with a "podcast," it is simply an MP3 audio file that can be downloaded and listened to over your computer, or listened to over an iPod.  This particular interview is 20 megs, and downloaded in a few minutes over my DSL connection.  We had a few technical difficulties so the sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's not too bad either.

The podcast website is at: http://www.jesusgeek.info where you can listen
and leave comments.  John's blog is at: http://www.bezahlt.org which is where he does his day-to-day posting.

If you have iTunes or some other "podcatcher" you can get the feed for the podcast at: http://www.jesusgeek.gmpodcasting.net/podcast.php

I'd encourage everyone to tune it and support the wonderful service this homeschool dad is providing to the homeschool community.
