That was very interesting, and several of my kids came to watch it. They were interested in learning about the stars positions this month, too. Excellent video!

(I did notice one typo ... instead of saying ON at one point it said ONE.)

Thank you!

My kids really enjoyed watching the video with me and it really made us want to learn more. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your curriculum. We really enjoy learning about the stars in the winter here in Alaska, as it is dark so much here at that time. I will have to look into purchasing this in the fall. Right now, it hardly gets dark enough to see any stars! God bless your ministry!

This is a great visual guide on what this curriculum is all about. This looks like a great curriculum to help you learn how to observe the night sky. I'm planning on getting it next month, just finished Exploring Creation with Astronomy and feel there is a void in our knowledge of the practical observation of the night sky. I will probably spend the rest of the summer with my children learning how to observe the night sky. I’m excited, can’t wait! One comment about the animation - it would be nice if the change over was just a little slower so that one can get a chance to read everything and process it a little, especially for novices such as me!

Ever been camping and needed a light in the middle of the night? *click* Nothing shows the way like a flashliglht in the darkness!
We've been dabbling with watching the night sky, but now we're ready to go find Regulus, Mars and Venus!
This presentation showed us the way to view the sky. Thank you.

I appreciate curriculums like this, as I used to be worried that studying astronomy might also include a study of astrology, including gods and signs to guide your life by. Thank you for such a beautiful video, too.

I looked at this book at our latest homeschool convention, and it is absolutely the best astronomy book out there. Unfortunately, I was short on funds and passed it up, hoping to find a copy later.

Join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClassicalAstronomy/ for lots more help and information. The author of Signs and Seasons checks in on the yahoo group regularly and always has informative comments, and sometimes assignments for us parents to help us learn the constellations.

We've had our eye on this curriculum for a while and are looking forward to using it. After Chemistry, we are giving our daughters their choice in science and they have chosen this one! It is their Granddaddy's favorite subject and he is looking forward to working with them. We are excited because it will be from a Christian perspective and a great witnessing tool! Thanks again!

Just this evening my daughter was asking if there are any high school astronomy curricula for home study. I'm so glad to find something appropriate to her level and interest. She completer the Apologia course some years ago and wants more, yet is not ready for a college-level astrophysics course. This is much more practical for her and the whole family will enjoy it with her! Thanks for the great preview!

My older two children went through Ex[ploring Creation with Astronomy about 3 years ago. Now that they are a bit older it would be great to go through this curriculum. My 6 year old is always asking me questions about the sun, moon, and stars and I have to admit with my public school education, I have had to look up some of his answers.

I had to search around a bit to find the video, as this wasn't a direct link. But I love it! This is definitely on my wish list. I first heard it recommended by the Cribchick on blogger. I love that it is a family curriculum, not a textbook. It looks like it will take away the fear of dry facts and replace it with a sense of adventure.

Classical Astronomy Looks Awesome

I recently went to our local homeschool curriculum fair and saw Classical Astronomy on a shelf. I picked it up and looked through it and had it in my arms to purchase. It looked like a great continuation to the book we had just finished by Jeannie Fulbright. Summer is here and we were excited to get out our telescope and start looking. This book would have been a great guide for us. However, at the checkout, I found that I was over budget on books for the year and had to put something back. Since we just finished Exploring Creation with Astronomy, I felt that I Signs and Seasons was the obvious choice of books in the pile to give up. Upon viewing the trailer, I wish I could have gotten the book. It is perfect weather here at night and we would have gotten a lot out of this wonderful book. I would encourage anyone who was fortunate enough to be able to include this book in their purchases this year to get it off the shelf and go outside and start exploring this awesome universe the God has graciously given us at which to marvel. God's Gift to us

I have always believed that God gave us the gift of stars and planets, and that they ARE for "signs and seasons", and for proclaiming His goodness and glory.

I LOVED the way thay the trailer showed how planets/stars/constellations looked on our horizon, then moved out to show how they looked from a "God's eye view". It helps me put things into a better perspective. We will be doing the "Exploring Creation with Astronomy" next year, and this is one of the supplemental books I have had my eye on for that time.

very nice video!

My son said 'Hey, look, it's Venus!' and really liked this trailer. I actually saw this, or part of this - I just remember the picture on the front - curriculum laying on a table at a garage sale. I didn't pick it up because I was in a hurry and assumed it would not be on the right age level for my kiddos. Shame on me! This looks incredible! Thanks for the sneek peek.

This is on my wish list for this year. I remember laying in the yard with my Dad while we watched for falling stars & he would point out the different constellations and stars. (We lived 40 miles out of town, boy could you see the stars!) I have tried to do that with my kids but I can't remember which stars are which!

I have two girls who are of vast age difference and neither interested in science. Both enjoyed this animated video and understood it at their own knowledge level. They are very interested in continuing this study because of what they saw on the trailer. If the book is half as good as the trailer, this may be the first time they really "get" science and enjoy it.
