This is a BRAND NEW curriculum that just came out. I was lucky enough to be able to review it before it was published and then AIG sent me the finished product a few weeks ago. In finally sitting down to look over our curricula for next year, I pulled this out today and really looked at it again. The Pilgrim's Progress is going to be our Bible Study for the entire year. Now, the publishers intended this to be a 13-week study with the family, co-op, etc. covering 3 lessons weekly, but I intend for us to cover the lessons in a bit more detail using the Extension Activities.
This all-in-one curriculum contains the entire text of The Pilgrim's Progress. Inside the back cover of the hardback book is a CD that contains printable pages for "Truths to Ponder" (younger students) and "Digging Deeper" (older students), the Extension Activities and Character Analyses. Each lesson is geared to only take about 30 min. if you just read the text and go over the Discussion questions. The Extension activities cover the areas of history, science and language arts. They also make suggestions on how to incorporate a timeline and mapwork into the study.
I believe that this will be a great one-year study for us next year. Honestly, I do not believe a family would only use The Pilgrim's Progress once and then never again. I can see using it 3 times in a Classical bent ... For grammar students, read through it and answer the Truths To Ponder questions. For logic students, read through it and answer the Digger Deeper questions and throw in an Extension Activity or the timeline/mapwork. Rhetoric students would read the text and complete most, if not ALL of the Extension Activities. All of this means that this curriculum can be used by ONE family with students of varying ages. And, of course, if you buy it from The Schoolhouse Store, you get **FREE** shipping with your purchase!

What do you think is the prime age for this?

The prime age ... a difficult question in a way because I can honestly see families using this with kids of all ages. However, probably grades 3-8 of you don't want to do the extension activities. With those ages, you can just read and discuss. I will be using it with a 5th and 7th grader next year, but I can see us pulling this out again when both kids are in high school and doing it again!

The Schoolhouse Store must not sell it anymore. You could try the Answers in Genesis website, I guess.

I can't seem to find the all-in-one curriculum you described for Pilgrim's Progress (with the cd in the back). I'm interested in a study guide to go along with the book for my 10yr old son. I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks
