Of course these kids know how to say please and thank you! Of course they know how to wait in line politely and to give up a seat to someone who might need it more. They certainly know how to sit at a table and pass the food nicely. But will they? No way! That's for when they're grown-up and boring! When they get older they'll have good manners, but for now . . . they're just kids!

On the empty winter prairie gray clouds to the northwest meant only one thing: a blizzard was seconds away. The first blizzard came in October. It snowed almost without stopping until April. The temperature dropped to forty below. Snow reached the roof-tops. And no trains could get through with food and coal. The townspeople began to starve. The Ingalls family barely lived through that winter. And Almanzo Wilder knew he would have to risk his life to save the town. 335 pages.

FOR NEW MEMBERS:
I'm so glad that you've decided to join this group! Please feel free to share the information with your friends. If you would like to see past emails listing more books, view the messages on the homepage -
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BCOnewbooks/. As most homeschooling families are very budget-conscious, I hope that I can find some really good bargains for you and your homeschool! The only thing that I ask is that *if* you decide to purchase any books through my recommendation, please use my referral URL
http://www.bookcloseouts.com/default.asp?rid=jkprice which earns me a small commission on sales.
First off, let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a homeschooling mom to 2 children - 5th and 7th grade - and I started this group back up about a year ago. I have been an affiliate and long-time customer of Book Closeouts for 10 years now ... I love this online bookstore! I focus on books that are newly added to the Children's sections, mostly the Non-Fiction or popular Fiction. Since I do not know the kinds of fiction each family likes, I tend to not list too many from there. However, if you want me to keep my eyes open for certain authors or series, just let me know - kjpriceathome@charter.net - I'm more than happy to work on your "Most Wanted" lists!
Each month, I offer random drawings for BCO coupons based on the previous month's sales. If sales are good, I'll offer more in coupons. Slower sales mean less that I can give away. The larger this group grows, the more that I can give away each month (because that usually means more sales!), so please feel free to tell all of your friends about this group and encourage them to join. The coupons I give away are NOT coming from BCO, but from my own affiliate earnings. It is my way of thanking you for purchasing books through my affiliate link - www.bookcloseouts.com/default.asp?rid=jkprice. If you will bookmark that link right after you click on it, then every time you purchase books through the link, I should get credit. If you would like to see past emails listing more books, view the messages on the homepage - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BCOnewbooks/. I try to send out 2-4 emails weekly - it all depends upon what I see uploaded overnight. Some lists are longer than others, but they are all titled "Book CloseOuts New Arrivals - 7/27" (whatever the date is!).
Here are some details about how to place an order through my affiliate link. I've tested this process several times and it works everytime! Bookmark the link above, enter the store through it every time. Create an acct. at BCO if you do not already have one and be sure you are logged in before you start placing books in your basket. The books will stay in there indefinitely until you are ready to order. Once you have your basket filled and you are ready to place an order, enter through your bookmarked link and place your order. I always have coupons that you can use and they can be used multiple times, but you MUST enter through my affiliate link EACH AND EVERY time to give me credit for the order (& to be entered into the contests). If you start adding books to your cart, jump OUT of BCO and then return later to finish shopping, just be sure and use that bookmarked link when you RE-ENTER the store. It's that easy! Sometimes, the jumping in and out of the store messes things up a bit! This will "pay" me for the time I take to create these emails each week - it does take some to find books that I feel could be useful to your family.
NOTE: If a book doesn't have an Overview, you can often click on the picture of the book to get a larger view of the cover. This is helpful if it's a workbook or something with information on the cover. Also, don't forget to check the left sidebar for "More Similar Items" - this often leads to more great titles to check out!
Here's a hint for finding lots of great titles at Book Closeouts. Once you find a title you are looking for, look in the box on the leff-hand side for "similar titles" or click on the author's name to find out what else they have written. There is LOTS of information under each title. If it's a part of a series, you can click on that link.
