Count It All Joy, The Joys of 3 Boys

Happy Birthday Boy!

Well today is our middle son's birthday.  He is 3 now.  He now knows that he can't go to the bathroom in his diaper.  I guess that is what I have been saying for the past year or so.

We had his party at a children's museum.  Everything was hands on as you might expect.  There was much fun to be had.  When asked how old he was, he replied "I'm 2, but I was 3 this morning at my birthday."  He kept forgetting that it was his big day.  As he opened gifts I would say this is from whomever.  He would then proceed over to that person and give them the gift back.  He thought it was for them not from them.   He even got so excited he started running in place and turing bright red.

Our oldest son ,who just turned 5, was able to give his brother a great gift.  He said he has been "working out", so he could get it just right.  He sang him a song he made up.

Our youngest son, who is 8 months old, was perfectly happy as one or both of his brothers blew party favors in his face.  You never head such a squeal.

All of this to say, it was a great party and I am so happy all enjoyed themselves.  Nothing gives a mother of all boys a better feeling than an outing without one of them getting wrestled to the ground, screaming at the top of their lungs, or some blood shed.  However, they all were very dirty when we left. Come on, what did you expect, they are boys.............

To The Rescue.....

We have 3 wonderful boys that live life to the fullest everyday.  They enjoy learning new things, playing with cousins and friends, and most of all they are very into Super heroes.   Our middle child, Wyatt who will be 3 this weekend,  has a drawer full of Super hero T-shirts and one that says "Grandma loves me!"  So depending on which t-shirt he has on, that is who he will pretend to be that day.  (He will even be Stripeman on Sundays when he has to wear his normal clothes.)

Yesterday we were wearing Superman.  While we were sitting down at the table having blueberry yogurt for a snack  all I hear is "To the rescue!"  I look over to see him rescuing each blueberry.  He carefully hides them under his cup of yogurt for safe keeping, only to see that he really is the villian that smooshed all the innocent blueberries.  So much for "To the rescue."

Needless to say, I didn't find much joy in cleaning up the mess until I started to think about it later.  Oh, how I wish I could enjoy those moments as they happen instead of later.  That is why I have started this blog.  I am just starting formal homeschooling with our oldest who is 5 and our 3 year old will be very involved with most of our classes.  We also have an 8 month old who is very content to watch his brothers in action.  Sometimes he gets right into the middle of it too.

I look forward to sharing my adventures of the Joys of raising 3 boys.
