Our Reading progress:Entry 1

Posted in SchoolRoom

Nothing to do but to do it, everyday, all day, one min. at a time! So saying that for the past few days... M4 has been reading short poems from our childcraft book. It's a real confidence booster for him too:) So I just knew reading a short verse would bless him just as much...it is the word of God :D At night we each take turns reading scripture. Today he completed another effort in writing to his pen pal...i want to add another. Milky our cat's dander got to him today, but we trooped through with sneezes and sniffles anyhow. I put on the calendar a note for Milky's salon...to help keep his dander down. Tomorrow we'll write more of the letter and mail it on the weekend.

Under a Shaddy tree, you and me

Posted in Pages

So much, I want to be in my own house with my own garden. I feel like a wanna be gardener! I keep trying to grow things with the children and they die. Well this time I found some terra catta? (sp) We'll do some starter plants, beans and some of our favorite herbs. YesterdayI thought about having color sections to my garden. Yellow and green where the Corn, greens and other veggies will be and the Yellowish orange sections for my Sunflowers. A rainbow theme since I love rainbows. I will work on the complete design of the garden with my dd. I did want to plant a fruit tree but I think I some other kind of shaddy tree out and away from the house will be on our level of stewardship! Plus less bees.
Keeping my mind on what I do want and off of what I don't is challenging. I woke up with the picture above in my mind. I know my children will be wonderful gardeners. Especially my three yr. old who loves to have something to do with his hands. will find the right spot and turn over dirt, pick out rocks. hmmm he'll need some lil' gloves I guess. I can just see him jumping around out in the yard...with our own dog.
Yesterday I realized I always take the other children on errands and I felt really bad leaving him. In the PMA book it talked about getting rid of guilt by doing something good about it. So off we went. I was determinded to keep a PMA...even My dd was too. I learned plenty about him and was reminded why I don't usually take them out when they're young. Easily distracted and so hands on...fear of loosing them, while I'm thinking of what I'm out for.
He skipped and jumped, Little legs need a lot of consideration when going walking. Even if they are the best jumper in the house! It was fun. Plus The Lord blessed us to make it safely through the busy bumpy streets!
Patience is my new best friend~~~ Ro 15:4 - Show Context For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Heb 10:36 - Show Context For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Jas 1:4 - Show Context But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

A goodnight for sleep refusers

Posted in Ways2Grow

Routines for us change as the children grow...What works for weeks may suddenly stop working and then nessessity mode kickes in. It's not always fun, because I feel like I'm muttling through until I get a breakthrough. My two boys age 10 and 6 seem to hate going to bed. So they always get rather silly. So I started separting them alternately. Each gets a turn to stand up in my room and wait for the other to fall asleep. It works. if one doesn't fall asleep in a reasonable amount of time they switch. Well it's turned out that. My 6 yr. old son misses me reading to them about "God". So tonight as soon as my nursing baby went to sleep we read and read...He listened to the kjv of psalm intently and a song(words below). In turn my 3 yr. old went to sleep as we read. Now thats a great way to help get a good night sleep with the word of God. The words to...
"The Lord is my light"
The Lord is my light and my salvation. The Lord is my light and my salvation. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. Whom shall I fear Whom shal I fear. The Lord is the Light of my life. Whom shall I fear. In the time of trouble He shall hide me In the time of trouble He shall hide me In the time of trouble He shall hide me, He shall strengthen my heart. Whom shall I fear Whom shal I fear. The Lord is the Strength of my life. Whom shall I fear.

Store Playing fun...future dreams!

Posted in SchoolRoom

~~~~Math~~~~~
My 12 yr. old planned and made crafts to play store with her sibs for weeks. Being the clutter queen, it was a challenge to not let her collected boxes and paper scraps get out of hand, but she did it...with a little help, here and there;) Playing store when I was young wasn't this elaborate lol . Even I had to have one of her items for sale. Sadly we have to find another venue for her crafts...the boys were leaving their purchases on the floor. A problem I let go before the craft came along. So I'd like to see her have a craft show with other schooler or hold a gallery sale. The reviewer mentioned how it would be a great motivator for her to continue if she could get that kind of experience. I'm not sure when the Lord will make such an opportunity available but I agree with her on that note. Although my lil' inventor/entreprenuer seems highly motivated by the Lord!
The hair in the face reminds me of my dd, but a self portrait it's not. She told me the other day 8 is great! It sure is. She has a good eye, love the details she puts in her drawings. I hope to place more of her work here. My oldest says he's noticed his eye keeps getting better...at 16 I can't imagine what their artist eye, will be like in 5, 10, 20yrs.!
no cook peanutbutter balls...uh with chocolate:D
Posted in Recipes
This is a treat, really...it doesn't look like much but it's really good! My cocoa found this in a magazine my mil gave us...who by the way loves to give something whenever she comes by to visit. Southern ppl gotta love em. On the other hand when does she think I'll have time to sit and read gossipy magazines?? It's a delicate thing when ppl give you things that you'd never get for yourself because it goes against your convictions. Even after you search for the right words they ignore you lol! or say somethiing that means oh you're just being silly...here take this! Soo...I throw out most and use some for clippings and throw them out too. One day my dd asked me if a magazine she liked had gossip in them...this spured a conversation about gossip and why it's damaging.
.
Back to the Peanut Butter balls.
2 cups crushed graham crackers, or crispbread( which we used rhye, in the photo)
1/2 cup corn syrup, or honey,
1 cup of confection sugar*
2 cups Peanut Butter About,
1 cup of simi sweet chocolate melted
~~~ Mix it all but the chocolate and make lil' balls...then drizzle chocolate over them. Freeze until the chocolate hardens and eat em!

My 3 yr. old son doesn't handle chocolate too well but he loves it...so i don't put too much. I've had a hard time finding carob near us..so i'd like to order some on-line. i found two great places I'll keep them here so I won't have to keep them on my puter bookmarks.:D

*Homemade confection sugar~ 2Tblsp. cornstarch 1 cup sugar blend in the blender...watch the powder coming out:)

About Us

WHAT THE LORD IS SAYING TODAY
Word from the Lord to Build Up, Encourage and Comfort by Ras Robinson
••••~~~••••

Whining. I say unto you today, do not lose your thankful heart. It is so pleasant to Me. I delight in you and all that you are. Just know that My favor is for a lifetime and My mercy towards you is fresh every morning. Gather up yourself and come unto Me. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad. Sing songs of deliverance and worship. Remind yourself of My goodness. Inquire of Me and you will hear. Only be quick to obey and your reward will be great. Be careful not to be as were My children in the wilderness. Whining.

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His Love.
