Schools back

The school breaks are such a refreshing time of year. For kids at school, they don't like the holidays as much because their not seeing their friends every day, for homeschooled kids we like the school holidays because we CAN see our friends. The time comes around and the schoolbell rings. Kids fly onto the bus and eagerly catch up with each other and exclaim over the things they did in the holidays (These stories are generally exagerated). Homeschooled kids slump over the chair and say that their too tired to do anything today. Much better to go back to bed. Unless there is a particular subject that you are eagerly awaiting to get to or you got bored of the holidays because there was nothing to do, you can probably relate to what i'm saying. Here in Western Australia school has just gone back and although i needed something to occupy my time, some of the schoolwork is not what i had in mind. I'm glad to be back to maths and zoology and art but i have no use for this kind of knowledge. The world of academic achievement is not in my future, so why do i need to do it? This question is very easily answered. I will not give the answer because i'm sure everyone can think of at least half a dozen reasons why. School is good for us and we who do not appreciate the work our parent/s put into our schooling are ungrateful. It's not just hard for us! Our parent/s have a hard time of it too, especially when we whine about how hard it is.
Just what i've been thinking about.
God Bless,
CoffeeGirl

I can relate. We're "easing" back into things soon and I don't look forward to the first few weeks. I'm hoping the kids will be excited for a change since we're learning some really new and cool stuff. :)
