Wish I was a Franciscan

Rolling stones...

Rolling stones... going by so fast they forget to take a breath of air and see the stars.

There are so many requirements in life... Sweep the floors, clean the dishes, make the beds, fold the washing, do your homework, feed the dogs, cook the dinner, set up a party, call your friends, make a gift, dust the bookshelfs... there never seems to be time for God. We fill our day with things... important things, time wasting things, things that make us feel good. Where is God? Waiting. He waits by our side, he sits patiently, stopping a car from running us over, stopping the leak in the roof getting worse, stopping the gas leak... waiting for us. He hopes that we will spare a minute, send up a prayer to him. To let him know we haven't forgotten him. We fit God into our lives... we set aside 15 minutes in the morning to pray the rosary. We wish we had more time for God, we wish we could enjoy praying or reading a bit of scripture but we never seem to have 'time'. Can we pray while vaccuming? yes. Can we pray while cleaning the fridge? yes. Can we stop our tongues talking so much if we pray in the quiet minute? yes. I know during those moments there are a billion or more things running through our heads that we never think to praise God for the family were scrubbing the floor for.

I never used to be able to concentrate while praying the rosary, my mind used to wander and fingers would miss a hail mary... lately i have been trying. There were a few issues in the family so i was sending a rosary up to Our Lady ever day. It is becoming easier now. I can focus more and it doesn't seem like a chore. I can see the things that have been happening as a result. Good things. I love praying to Our Lady now, she gives so much comfort to those of us who need a shoulder to cry on. From watching other people in my family, when they started praying the rosary every day it became a helping hand, then it became something that they really liked to do, then it became an addiction to pray it every day. Something that would put the whole day out if they didn't pray the rosary. What a wonderful addiction! I can't wait till that is me! Till i can't get up in the morning until i've prayed my rosary! "The days slip by too fast!" we cry. "We need more time!"
How about we MAKE time, instead of just grabbing a minute when we've nothing else to do and then finding out that the electrician needs to be called. Our Lady has blessed me so much since i started praying her rosary every day. Imagine what she could do for you...

God bless,
Elizabeth

I completely agree!! Our Lady asked us to pray the rosary so many times- why not sacrifice a little of my time to this holy dedication of prayer?
I didn't want to be a nun before, but I have been practicing Apologetics and I have such a zeal to defend the Catholic Church. I have been arguing with a Baptist on why Penance and Confession, and Baptism is necessary for salvation. I even gave her Biblical verses on them- but she kept switching everything around. There's so much proof in the Catholic Faith!! So I want to give up my earthly life and follow God.
Talk soon and God Bless!
