We have a new driver in the house! Garrett (ds16) got his driver's permit today. He's excited... I'm excited.... I actually let him drive home and there was NO wailing or gnashing of teeth. LOL!! I was surprised that I was so calm. He's been pretty slow and cautious....so far!
Here in MO kids under 18 have to have a permit at least 6 mos. before they can get their license. They can get the permit at age 15, but can not get the full license until age 16. We had decided that we wanted our boys to be closer to 17 before they got their license. He'll be 17 in July. He'll qualify for his license in Dec. Not too far off the mark.

Hi, Matthew got his permit and was driving for a year on it. He's 16 now. He let it expire and needs to see if he can get it renewed. He can get everywhere he needs to go on his bike; so, he's not in any hurry. He also knows he has to pay the extra $60 a month to add him to our insurance. Although he's just started a job down at Carthage Hardware on the square, I don't think he's in any hurry to "waste his money" on insurance and a license. Good grief! I can't remember how to spell license!
