Oct. 27, 2008 - Garrett has a broken nose!
He joined a game of flag football last night at our church's fall party. Apparently, someone came down with a pass and got him with their elbow. I went ahead and took him to the ER because there was a lot of blood and it was swelling pretty good (even after icing it). One very expensive x-ray (and almost 2 hours) later and the verdict was a "non-displaced fracture". We're thankful that it hadn't been displaced. By that time I don't know if he could have withstood the pain of them setting and taping it!
I'm still waiting for him to wake up this morning to see how he's doing. He took a Vicodin before bed and I noticed that he didn't take the 2nd one I laid out for him. I think that's a good sign that he was able to sleep all night.
I'll keep you all posted. The Dr. is expecting some pretty good black eyes because of all the bleeding. I'll be sure and take pictures! ;-)

Hi Leslie, Isn't it a little early for the young Mister to be playing Rudolph? My mother-in-law broke her nose a couple of years ago on Christmas eve.
I'm sure he's hurting a lot. I'll pray for him.
Bless you Sister!
Laura
P.S. I sure was glad to see that you'd posted on your blog. It comes up automatically on my blog's sidebar when you do; so, others can take a look at what you're writing also.
