Join me for Tea

Jul. 31, 2006 - Soap Operas

It's funny...I have never been one for journaling.  I am one who is long winded and write the same way.  So to think of journaling sounds like a big event for me.  Lots of writing...lots of thinking...too much work.  Plus, I usually don't have that much time to myself anyway.  Being new to blogging I have discovered that blogging is pretty much the same a journaling except others get to "peek at your diary".

Many people speak of journaling in their quiet time with the Lord.  JOURNALING! That word again. YUK! Needless to say I didn't entertain that idea very long at all.  UNTIL this past April when the women of our church had a women's retreat.  A representative of a christian book store in town gave a short promo of a new store location but had said that the Lord had laid it upon her heart to share what she had always done and was something that seemed so simple she was almost embarrassed to share it.  It was journaling.  Journaling, of all things!  She shared a simple process that made so much sense to me and made journaling not such an overwhelming task.  I'd like to share the first page of my quiet time journal.

"This is my SOAP Journal.

Each time I Rendezvous

with my love and I seek

to know Him through His

Word I will Journal my

SOAP-Opera.  Selecting a

Scripture

from my reading. Recording my

Observation

Identifying an

Application

to my life from the scripture,

and responding with a

Prayer

Glory be to God!"

I have enjoyed writing my own SOAP-Opera!  Each journal entry supprises me what God teaches me each day.  I can't wait to tune in tomorrow for another exciting episode...

Jul. 28, 2006 - My Cup Of Tea

There is nothing like a good cup of tea!  It wisks us away to a place of peace and reflection.  A place where the troubles of the world are silence by the hopes and possibilities of a new moment in time.  Where we can steal away to a secret rendezvous a private love afair with the one knows you heart so intimately...the one who created you.  I love those moments when God calls me to tea.  In those moments He lovingly shows me who I am and the plans He has for me.  He restores me, encourages me, corrects me, teaches me, laughs with me, cries with me, and always, forever, loves me.

For those looking in...when you get discouraged, when you get tired, when you need to celebrate, when you need to be still, don't forget...there is nothing like a good cup of tea!
