Are you new to Colorado? Are you new to Homeschooling? This is a great place to get some wonderful links full of ideas and encouragement for homeschooling. December is a great month to have your kids home with you! The holiday season is the perfect time to "de-school" and get out of the doldrums of seat work and time constraints. I hope you can catch a "vision" for your homeschooling endeavors as you learn all about the why's and how's of keeping your kids at home.
Here are just a few ideas for learning at home. Just pull those kids out of school right now, and start enjoying them!
You can:
Bake cookies,
Deliver them to neighbors,
Volunteer at a soup kitchen,
Shovel snowy sidewalks together,
Plan meals,
Make birdfeeders and learn about the birds,
Have the kids write the family newsletter this year,
Create homemade ornaments,
Learn new Christmas Carols,
Visit shut-ins,
Do an impromptu Christmas video,
Cut down your own tree,
Learn about the names of Christ,
Make a nativity,
The list can go on and on!
These are some of the things we have done in the past. If these things don't fit with your faith, or your idea of the holiday, please feel free to share what you are doing with us! We would love to hear your ideas too.
Have a blessed week everyone!
