Communication is all about
relationships! It's a huge part of your friendships, your
parenting and your teaching. For your children it's also an
important part of their being children and learning as students. Studies
have shown that effective communicators have better relationships,
closer friendships, do better in school and are generally
happier. Why? Because they have the ability to relate with
others, express their needs and desires, be clear in the classroom and
have the confidence to speak up (college if not public school).
They are simply happier because not only are they more confident to
speak up about their needs and ideas, but they are effective in
persuading others to adopt their ideas and join with them. Activity: Your
activity today is simply to think about all the things you want: good
grades? Close friendships? A good job? Advancement in
career or business? A spouse? Do you have a mission the
Lord gave you? A passion for some cause? How
much more effective would you be if you were articulate and could
effectively convey your wishes to those who could help you achieve
them?
