Tune in today! New Episode of the Misadventures of Foot in Mouth Man!

This week we find FIMM trying to improve himself by becoming a little more outgoing.  He is having a bit of trouble...

FIMM sees a young girl and her mother walking on the other side of the street.  He decides to brighten their day.  He smiles a big grin at them as they walk by.    Fearing for her daughter's safety, mom hits FIMM over the head with her purse as they quickly run past.

Later on, FIMM is waiting in line at the grocery store and decides to strike up a conversation with the woman in front of him.  He asks her how far along she is and when her baby is due.  In a huff, the woman tugs on her shirt and turns her back to him.

On the way home, FIMM spots an old man sitting on his porch smiling.

FIMM: "You look happy today!  What's your secret?  I'll bet you don't smoke, eat right and get plenty of exercise."

Old Man: "No..." came a gruff voice. "I smoke about a pack a day, love fatty foods and avoid movement whenever possible."

FIMM:  "Wow!  Really!  How old are you?"

Old Man: "32."

I like the FIM one about assuming the woman is pregnant by the size of her stomach. My kids created, quite the embarrassing moments by this very thing. It seems like it happened most when I was pg, since they were really into noticing other women's stomachs at that time. I had to tell them it's not polite to ask the mom about when she's going to have her baby...knowing there just might not be a baby to be had! LOL
I enjoy reading your comments on my blog. :)

Aug. 23, 2006 - Ha..ha..ha :)!

That's so funny! Sometimes good intentions are not enough (we also need good communication skills, right?) :) People's perception/interpretation plays a big part, too.

P.S. Thanks for all your comments on my blog! You're such an encouraging sister in Christ. It's a gift...a great one!

About Me

I was raised by two Atheists of Jewish heritage, married a non practicing Catholic and became a non denominational Christian due, in part, to some Amway meetings and a Jehovah's Witness who came to my door. My purple crayon writes with humor and almost always a little out of the lines. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This blog is my creative and fun way of sharing my thoughts on communication skills relating mostly to homeschooling and sharing and defending the faith. It also reveals a bit about how the Lord took this shy Agnostic girl and allowed her to find her voice and her purpose, a zany voice to the Christian community with insight as to what unbelievers need to hear about Christ Jesus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'll share news items, quotes, family friendly humor, tips, trivia, and my newest feature: Question of the Week. I invite you to come share your thoughts! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more creative fun with JoJo you can visit www.ArtofEloquence.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." -Proverbs 25:11
