Writing contest just for homeschoolers!
I found information on this in my inbox this morning:
Sylvan Dell Publishing’s Picture Book Writing Competition is offering homeschooled students working at a high school level a unique opportunity to explore the world of children’s literature and try their hand at writing a picture book. The winning author will receive a $200 prize and the manuscript will be seriously considered for publication.
All submissions must be e-mailed by May 1, 2007. They are not taking mailed copies. They are looking for books of less than 1000 words written for age ranges: 3-7 or 4-8 or 5-9 or 6-10.
The winner and four runner-ups will be contacted directly via e-mail. Their names will also be posted on the homeschool page of their site on June 1st.
