Episode 52: Uncle Albert
As the wedding draws nearer, FIMM gets a little more nervous. Today he was speaking to the reception hall to coordinate the last minute details of the wedding. You might not be surprised to learn that the coordinator had a bit of trouble understanding FIMM's instructions:
FIMM: Mrs. O'Mally, we would like the chairs to all be facing the north side so that we can all watch the sun set during the reception.
Mrs. O'Mally: Sir, the sun sets in the west.
FIMM: Oh, yes...I mean west.
Mrs. O'Mally: Do you want to face the west as well? It's traditional for the guests to face the bride and groom. That would mean you would be facing the opposite direction and unable to see the sunset.
FIMM: Oh. I'll have to call Bonnie on that one...
Also we want to make sure that there is no open bar. We don't drink, but Uncle Albert does and so does my cousin Eddy. We've tried to talk to them about it, but they just won't listen so we really don't want them getting drunk at the wedding. Uncle Albert likes to put the lampshade over his head and yell... "Incoming!". The last time he did that my cousin Eddy opened fire on imaginary troops and he had to organize their surrender in the middle of my Aunt's wedding. But that wasn't so bad because they didn't have any entertainment at the wedding because Aunt Mildred forgot to tell the band leader the directions to the reception hall and they ended up in the right hotel but about three cities over. Which was really a coincidence because there was another wedding at that hotel who's band didn't show up so they got that job instead. Although they did end up trying to sue Aunt Mildred and Uncle Morty because that wedding refused to pay him since they didn't hire them and had already paid the other band...and Aunt Mildred didn't want to pay them either because they didn't actually play at her wedding so the band never did get paid which really was a shame because I heard from my friend Joey that the band was really good! He happened to be at the other wedding and had a ball. He met his future wife there. She was the wedding coordinator. Their wedding was a mess too and it's odd because she was a wedding coordinator so you would think her own wedding would have been planned well, but I guess that's what happens when you are nervous.
Mrs. O'Mally: I'm sorry. I got a little lost in that story. What was it you didn't want at your wedding besides Uncle Albert and Cousin Eddy?
