Defending the Faith SONday: Bible Verses Contaminate Textbooks????
This article posted May 2nd on World Net Daily entitled: Colleges: Bible verses contaminate textbooks reports that there is a current law suit brought against the University of California System run by President Robert Dynes by the Association of Christian Schools International. Apparently this lawsuit was a result of the UC decision that...
"basic physics, American literature and biology textbooks by major Christian book publishers such as Bob Jones University Press and A Beka Book wouldn't qualify for core requirements in the state because of the inclusion of Christian perspectives."
It isn't that they think that the texts are not academically challenging or that the materials are inaccurate...
"Burt Carney, an executive with the school association, said he's met with officials for the university system, and was told that there was no problem with the actual facts in a BJU physics textbook that was disallowed."
"They are basically saying that any textbooks that include overt Christian content or themes, they're going to reject it automatically."
"Here's the very university that talks about academic freedom," he said. "It's very discriminating. They don't rule against Muslim or Hindu or Jewish [themes} or so forth, only those with a definite Christian theme."
Still think there isn't an anti Christian bias?
We, as Christians, need to speak out and speak up. We have been silent too long and look where it has brought us. We need to speak out in grace and teach our children to speak out and hold their own against articulate and argumentative college professors who will hold your children's grades over their heads!
Recent studies show that up to 59% of Christian teens who enter college will leave 4yrs later having renounced their faith! One study I saw said 70%!
Do you want to take that chance with YOUR children's salvation? Our children need to know their Bible yes. But they also need to understand how best to articulate it to others!
Please don't let your child graduate your homeschool without:
