Episode 81: FIMMarketing 101!
With the new baby on the way, FIMM was getting a little nervous that he isn't financially prepared. He has been reading about how much children cost to raise these days and then there's COLLEGE! FIMM decided to start an internet business. He set up his website and joined some networking groups to learn about marketing.
One day, on one of his networking groups, a woman posted that her 4 year old son's cancer treatments had wiped out their life savings and that the remaining bills totalled $5000. She was asking for advice about putting a sale together in order to raise money to pay for his medical bills. She had been in business for about 7 years and had a large mailing list of customers who just adored her artwork and drawing tips. She was told to share honestly about her son's situation with her customers in her weekly newsletter and offer a huge special sale describing her custom artwork. A few weeks later she thanked the group for their advice and reported that the sale had generated more than enough income to cover her son's remaining medical bills!
FIMM was inspired! His mailing list wasn't quite so large, but he didn't need as much money so he put together a sale of his own. He sent out his newsletter sharing how much he wanted to buy this fancy crib for his new baby and how he didn't have the extra $150 to buy it in time for the baby's birth in just a few months. FIMM detailed the finer points of the eBook for which he had resale rights and the incredible sale he was having in order to raise money to give his child the very best. The name of the ebook was:
"How to Make $1000 in One Week Selling eBooks!"
I wonder how he did...
FIMM, don't be like himm! Check out Art of Eloquence to learn communication skills the fun way!
I was raised by two Atheists of Jewish heritage, married a non practicing Catholic and became a non denominational Christian due, in part, to some Amway meetings and a Jehovah's Witness who came to my door. My purple crayon writes with humor and almost always a little out of the lines.

This blog is my creative and fun way of sharing my thoughts on communication skills relating mostly to sharing and defending the faith. It also reveals a bit about how the Lord took this shy Agnostic girl and allowed her to find her voice and her purpose, a zany voice to the Christian community with insight as to what unbelievers need to hear about Christ Jesus.
