Did my Pastor HAVE to talk about letting go THIS Mother's Day?

Posted in Family
Does God speak to you directly though your church service or WHAT?

I've been to church through MANY Mother's Days since I gave my heart to Jesus but this was the first Mother's Day service where the Pastor talked about letting go.  By the time service was over, I was a bawling mess!  Kelsey was sitting right next to me and turned to give me a hug about three times during the service.

Pastor Chris talked about Moses' mother who had to let go of her son when he was just three months old.  Then when he was about three years old she had to let go of him for good.  Strangely that didn't give me comfort.  Even though I have had my dd with me for 18 years, all I could think was ..."I don't WANT to let go!"

I know I should and, when she is ready to fly to Nashville to move into the dorm,  I know I will but...I don't wanna!  lol

I know she will be ok and I know she will grow and I know she will become the child God intends her to be, but I don't wanna!

Couldn't he have talked about all the traditional Mother's Day things?  Couldn't he have just reminded us that God created mothers to nurture and to love and to teach?  Did he HAVE to talk about letting go THIS Mother's Day?!

JoJo, our pastor talked about letting go of our children, too! His passage was from the story of Hannah and her son, Samuel. I cried too, and my kids are only 13 and 10!

About Me

I was raised by two Atheists of Jewish heritage, married a non practicing Catholic and became a non denominational Christian due, in part, to some Amway meetings and a Jehovah's Witness who came to my door. My purple crayon writes with humor and almost always a little out of the lines. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This blog is my creative and fun way of sharing my thoughts on communication skills relating mostly to sharing and defending the faith. It also reveals a bit about how the Lord took this shy Agnostic girl and allowed her to find her voice and her purpose, a zany voice to the Christian community with insight as to what unbelievers need to hear about Christ Jesus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DON'T MISS: Tuesday Tips, Misadventures of Foot in Mouth Man, Friday Funnies, Defending the Faith SONdays ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more creative fun with JoJo you can visit www.ArtofEloquence.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." -Proverbs 25:11
