Today FIMM celebrates his 100th episode! For over two years Foot in Mouth Man has been educating others on the FIMMportance of effective communication in a fun and engaging way. FUNbelievably creative episodes have made himm a favorite with adults and children alike. Many homeschoolers tune in each Wednesday to share FIMM's Faux Pas with their children as a mini communication lesson!
Let's travel back to a time to where it all began. 46 years ago...BFIMM (Before Foot In Mouth Man)...
FIMM was born in a little blog cabin in the homeschool cyberwoods on April 1st, 1962. He was a happy-go-lucky child full of wonder and a FUNtastic sense of adventure. FUNfortunately, deep within himm there was a frustrating secret so FIMMportant that it would affect his entire life!
FIMM didn't speak a word until he was 4 1/2 years old. Unable to articulate his wants and needs, FIMM became increasingly frustrated. By first grade, his inability to communicate began to affect his self esteem as his peers laughed at his comments. His doctors were at a loss to find the cause until, at the age of 7, FIMM was diagnosed with CFD. Communication FUNdamentals Disorder is a very rare disease affecting the ability to communicate. Patients begin to lose the ability to listen, notice details in a conversation, and even to comprehend communicational nuances like body language and facial expressions. Eventually patients are left with a total inability to articulate clearly resulting in comments so outrageous that they contain comedic brilliance!
Most with CFD are doomed to friendless misery and poverty as they insult and confuse their way through life. But with a strong belief in his Lord and Savoir, FIMM decided to make the most of his communication disabilities. His sunny attitude and strong compassion for others shined through his inappropriate and sometimes rude comments. FIMM's optimism helped him overcome adversity. By the time FIMM was 32, he had developed some severe complications. He had a chronic case of Foot in Mouth Disease and was plagued by periodic bouts of Athlete's Tongue.
Then one day, two years ago, FIMM found God's purpose for his life! God used FIMM's communication disability to help share the FIMMportance of effective communication skills. FIMM's uniquely creative approach to teaching communication skills has been a blessing to all who have tuned in each week!
Won't you join me in celebration of Foot in Mouth Man's FIMMtastic success? Let us give thanks that we do not suffer from this debilitating disease. We can learn to communicate effectively and we can teach our children so let's use the tools and abilities God has given us!
