Why Women Shouldn't Vote

Posted in Current Events
You know, I've always been rather leery of a woman voting.  I mean, they're such emotionally driven creatures that most of them don't have a logical bone in their body.

Don't get me wrong - the way that women were created is just right.  I'm just saying that there is a reason that they were created as helpers to men.

And some of those reasons become pretty evident when it's time to vote.  The first impact of women voters was really felt after the televised Nixon / Kennedy debates.  Nixon, the superior statesman without question, looked "old" and "sweaty".  But Kennedy?  He was "cute"! The same thing was true for Clinton.

And, after all, isn't that the best reason to vote for someone?

I remember the psychologist women that they used to have on Fox News on their morning show said that women look for specific character traits in a man more than they look for someone good looking.  However, when they see a good looking man, they automatically assign all those positive character traits to them.

THE GOOD NEWS

The good news is that women understand this problem, too.  And, instead of foisting their ill-considered choices on the country, they just don't vote.

The women of Great State of Texas understand this particularly well as we are 49th out of 50th in percentage of elligible women voters who actually vote.

The detailed survey results from the Dallas area League of Women Voters also proves some additional reasons why women shouldn't vote:

1) They Lie - 53.1% said that they were "voting in every election" and 94.3% reported that they are currently registered to vote.  Obviously, these are two bald-faced lies engineered to make these women look good.

2) They're Ditzy - 17.2% of them are "unaware of when elections occur".  Yeah, because the political ads plastered everywhere are just informational - they don't mean an election is coming up.

3) They Can't Be Bothered - 33.4% of them say they don't vote because they "lack information about the issues".  Hmmmm....let's see here....  If there were a huge sale on your favorite brand of cosmetics / clothes / shoes, but you didn't know where it was, what would you do?

4) They're Self-Centered - I know that's almost redundant, but bear with me.  10.5% of these women said that "issues that matter to me [are] not addressed".  "Mr. Senator!  Mr. Senator!  Where do you stand on Farragama vs. Gucci?!"

WOMEN NOT VOTING - A COMMENDABLE TREND

Again, the good news is that most women are realizing that they shouldn't vote.  While women turn out in greater numbers than men for the last 3-4 presidential elections, overall they vote in much smaller numbers.

And when you move to so-called "off-year" elections, the numbers are even smaller.  Apparently, women aren't really concerned with state and local legislators.  And why should they be?  Do they have a stance on breast cancer (an actual concern from a "why women don't vote" survey I can't find anymore)?

If they don't have a stance on the important "women's issues" like breast cancer, they obviously won't be helping out women and there's no need to vote.  For women.

And lately, many school districts throughout Texas (probably your state, too) are having bond referendums to the tune of $200 million and above.  They know that today's busy woman just can't get to two voting locations to vote on huge bonds.

Frankly, it's probably not worth their time, anyway.  At least, not if there's nothing about breast cancer on the school district ballot.

I'M PROVEN RIGHT AGAIN

While there may be some of you denying reality right now and saying that I'm all wrong about this, the best part is that I'm right.

How do I know women shouldn't vote?  Because they've virtually done a voluntary recall on the 19th Amendment by not voting.  Especially in my state (Go, Texan Women!).

Wanna prove me wrong?  Wanna put me in my place?  Then go vote at your mid-term elections.  Go vote down your local school board bonds.

I'm not going to make it easy on you, but here's a hint:  Election Day is November 7th.  That's everywhere in the US, so no excuses.  And, if you're in the Great State of Texas, early voting starts today, Monday, October 23rd.

Now, let's see if you can find a polling place.  I bet you can't.  Women....

CONFESSOR'S EXIT POLL

If you do choose to prove me wrong, and have actually voted (not "I intend to vote!", but you have pulled the lever / pushed the button / punched the chad) post here and let me know about it.

After all,  I could be wrong...

I have voted in nearly every election since becoming a Christian. Although I believe if things were as God intended their would be no reason for women to vote, for the same reasons I don't think we should be in combat positions either. In issues I'm not certain about, I vote the way Shane tells me I should vote--he keeps me very informed.

NOT ON THIS ONE!!!!! First of all, I am not your typical woman, and there are many of us who are not the bimbo-blondes you see. Open your eyes, man! Are there moron women? You bet! Are there moron men? You better believe it, buster! You are one seriously visually challenged individual if this is all you see of the feminine gender. That is sad and pathetic if that's the case. I can tell you without reservation that I have thought many a time that I am so glad that I am not a man. Men are ruled by testosterone- it rules their thoughts and actions, 24/7. Women have the monthly issues, but that doesn't begin to touch the over-arching effects of testosterone in males. Men thinking about sex seven times an hour??? Don't tell me who can and can't think, mister! Maybe that will register when you get around to thinking of something else besides what your testosterone dictates. Another reason that I'm glad I'm not a man is that you guys try as you might, just cannot multi-task. God gave you that super focused mind, and it's served you well to protect and provide for your families. But our brains are much better at taking in a whole scene, seeing a whole picture. And for that I'm thankful. Perhaps that's why you've only managed to see the idiots in the world of womanhood.

As for the voting, I am not into the feminist agenda at all. But it has always saddened me greatly that women were not valued and esteemed so that they felt the necessity to vote. Men allowed any no-account, ignorant, worthless white man to vote... They got to influence the direction of our country and still do. We have men to thank for that one. I could go on, but this is only supposed to be a comment, and I've got to go on with my day. But suffice it to say, I really think you blew it on this one, Nota. I really hope your posting was tongue-in-cheek... Otherwise you've got some serious ISSUES! (I'm not totally angry with your post, but I am aghast that you might actually think this way...)

Great satire, Confessor! I don't think PosterGirl gets it, though. We need more women voters out there who think through the issues and consider candidates for their leadership and moral center. Most importantly, we need them to actually vote, especially in off-year elections. C'mon ladies! Show your kids how democracy works!

Eh. I vote. Usually early. I've got a collection of stickers to prove it. At the end of voting day, I peel off my "I voted!" sticker and slap it onto my bulletin board. The thing is almost covered with them.

And I'm logical enough, I guess. I got all the questions on the logic test at blogthings correct. Woo hoo and yay me and all that. My husband, btw, missed a few. Wanna try it? It's at http://www.blogthings.com/howlogicalareyouquiz/ .

Most likely, too many women will be put-off by your first few paragraphs and not bother to see this post through to the end. It probably would've been better to simply say: "This? (link to info) Is incredibly stupid. Be heard. Go vote."

IOW - tone it down a few hundred decibels, please? I think you were trying to help, but this kind of thing - long-winded, full of insults, not terribly funny - does more damage than good. You don't have to offend people to spur them to action. There are other ways to do it. Ways that don't give such a bad impression to first-time visitors to your blog. :-/

Yes, when I read, "Men allowed any no-account, ignorant, worthless white man to vote...", the last thing I think is "feminist".

And, to set the record straight, men allowed any no-account, ignorant, worthless, land-owning white man to vote. It was nearly a hundred years later when the changes occured.

As to where I get my information about women, the survey I cited was from the League of Women Voters - not a group likely to lean conservatively for effect.

And if they say that women are picking stupid reasons for not voting, who am I to argue?

Ok so I will comment on this one. I vote. Sometimes. When I remember. I am an averagely smart person (don't mind the non word) but when it comes to measures I want to pull my hair out. Can they write them any more simplistic? Sometimes you vote yes to get something to pass so something doesn't happen, or no so that something does happen. IT makes me crazy because I can never understand the gobbledygook. So basically I vote they way my husband votes. We talk about things, but I trust him and we see things similarly. He just understands things better than I do. Honestly when it comes to politics, I have no interest. It is like a foreign language to me. Just like French! I will vote though.

It's not that women vote stupidly. You are correct that men vote stupidly, too.

It's that women *don't* vote, and that for stupid reasons. At least, according to the lib women's group poll.

So, for example, because "the politicians don't talk about issues that interest me as a woman" (whatever issues those may be), women don't vote.

It apparently never occurs to these women that things like national security, foreign and domestic policy, illegal immigration, crime, wars, and minor stuff like that (which is what most national political campaigns discuss) *should* be of interest to them.

And it just reinforces my point here when it isn't.

I think its a blessing to women from God. I don't know any female who really cares about what happens politically around them.

That must be nice every Male that I interact with before election day talks about the elections and even get emotional about it.

I once over heard a water cooler meeting with various women in my office talking about the elections it wasn't based on issues, it was based on the clothes the potential first lady was wearing the other night. Its crazy!

OK, I know that there are SOME women that really care about the issues, but even still those that do I can't help but feel that the priority of importance to regarding those issues are women based and quite frankly absurd.

I think the female right to vote should be revoked and let the men handle the important stuff in our world as God intended.

Sorry if I made anyone mad with my beliefs but I have a lot of evidence on my side.

Thank you for letting me speak.

Women should not have the right to vote, and there shouldn't be much discussing it with them either. The vote was given to them as part of a larger hidden corporate agenda anyway. As regards this larger hidden agenda, it springs from the same sources as liberalism and communism, and even finance capitalism, and everyone should know that in Marxism and moneymoneymoney the issue is rarely the issue. The vote for women is hidden in a larger issue, which is really the Christian Patriarchy, and the women's vote and women's "lib" seek to destroy this Patriarchy.
People should not be afraid of their primitive instincts and intuitions here. Just recognize the smell of it and forget the discursive, deceiving hypnotism.

Women have careers, women have discovered things and women can earn 6 figures more than men sometimes. Just because we actually have something called feelings, a word not often heard in the male language, doesn't mean we close our eyes to everything logical. Actually, if you look at the GSCE results in britain (where I live) girls do generally better than boys. SUCK ON THAT!

This is possibly the most stereotypical, sexist article I have ever read. I am sorry, but men have their faults too. You can't point out all the faults in women and say they can't vote, because we can do the same thing about men. Lying and being self centered does NOT just apply to women! Men are like that too! They human race does those things, you can't just pin point it on one sex. There are many self centered men out there, and we don't say all men are self centered. Some may be, but obviously not all! Same goes for women! We are all equal, and we are ALL part of America, which gives us all the right to vote. There are many smart women out there that don't vote just because they think our president is cute. They actually want our country to be run by someone who know's what he is doing! How can you assume these things? There are millions and billions of women in our country! You can't just assume that all women are "emotionally driven creatures". Sure, they may be more emotionally driven, but there is nothing wrong with that, and that doesn't have to affect how they vote. Society has changed, and you may need to accept that. We are all equal now: the woman has just as many rights as the man, and rightly so!

Well, Hi! I would just like to say that you really need to take another good look at the world. I'm sorry, but you are EXTREMELY sexist. You, a MAN, extremely sexist. Do we really want SEXIST people like that, who INSULT woman, VOTING in our country? Ha-ha, no I think men should vote too, it's just, you are completely wrong, and we can say the same things about men that you can say about women. What about those great women--Condoleeza Rice, Sandra Day O'Connor, and other NUMEROUS women who have largely contributed to our society? How can you say women are self-centered, when men are the same way? It is not women who are like this, it is the HUMAN race. And unless you have personally gone around the whole entire globe, and talked to every single woman on this planet about politics, you have no right to say that women are self-centered. Now, are some of them self-centered? Sure they are! And the same goes for men! Everything you have pointed out in this article is extremely stereotypical. Say, if you met a TEXAN--actually, let's say you met FIFTEEN texans, and they were all self-centered people who didn't care about politics. Now, does that liscense me to write an article on how texan people shouldn't vote? NO! there are so much more than the fifteen texan people that I met, right? AND so what? Some women DON'T worry about politics---so they don't vote! But guess WHAT?! Some MEN don't worry about politics either---and they don't vote EITHER! So, really, we have an EQUAL society. We are all created by the same God---we all have a brain, lungs to breathe out of, a heart that pumps blood, eyes, nose, ears, and a mouth. But most importantly--we are ALL citizens of America, and each sex contributes EQUALLY to our society. It is not the right of people to JUDGE and stereotype people for some seemingly important 'proof' that they have come up with. If you want real proof, go around the world and talk to every single woman on the planet--only then can you proclaim that women are emotionally unstable and self-centered. And just so you know, there are plenty of men out there who have emotions that they can't control as well. Just because you haven't met any of those people in youre lifetime doesn't mean that they don't exist. Of course there are self-centered women. Of course there are self-centered men. THE END. We are the same--we should all be able to vote. God created us with the ability to think for ourselves, and if a woman can write this to you--please consider that a woman can vote properly. And the whole 'cute president' thing---WOW. Why do you think that men are the ones that are mostly the predators in our country? Now THOSE are the statistics that you should look at. Women are the target of these men. THEY think about THAT more than we do. Well, of course, not ALL of them do--there are some that are perfectly fine. But my point is that what you said is not correct. WE ARE ALL EQUAL. Thank you :] Haha wow I kinda blew up...wow. haha. :D

I 100% agree that women should not vote.

I have sub-contracted as a Project Manager for countless corporate enterprises over the past 25 years and about 99% of women in power that I have encountered over that time, should not be in power.

Most of the women who has responded negatively to this post acknowledge that that women have "feelings" and run on emotion. When I studied psychology, it is a written fact that men a logical and women are emotional. Let me tell you, it is a dangerous mixture to be running on emotion and being in power. For women in power, if things are all going wrong, or things are late, or if there is even a small problem, they lash out and tip themselves over the edge. I read in a previous comment, women in power force change upon everybody beneath them, if they want it or not That statement is completely accurate. Don't even try to defend this, I have seen it everyday, with literately hundreds (thousands?) of women.

As incredibly sexist it may sound, women weren't designed to be in power. That is just a psychological fact.

Yes, you're right, Marie Curie, Jane Austen, Mary Anning (paleontologist), Anna Atkins (botanist), Janet Taylor (astronomer);Marie-Sophie Germain (mathematician), Jeanne Villepreux-Power (marine biologist)., The Brontes...to name just a fraction of those I could name, all of them are "ditzy" and self obsessed in your view.

You cannot apply blanket statements such as these about half the world's population and it is a concerning fact that you are writing about your own chauvinist opinions as if they are tested, empirical, scientific fact.

It is worrying that the next generation will have been homeschooled into these inaccurate and offensive opinions.

Before you homeschool your children with this nonsense any longer (I only hope none of your children are girls, since they would clearly be taught to believe they are second class citizens who do not deserve the basic freedom and right to vote and participate in society) I suggest that you actually do some research rather than living in your current state of ignorance.

You may indeed have met some ditzy self-obsessed women. That does not mean that you can then extend the opinions you made on those people to the remaining 3 billion women on the planet. Voting is a basic human right. It is extended regardless of gender, race, religion or wealth. To suggest that one area of society have that right removed makes it clear to me that you regard women as inferior beings.

And that, sir, is an argument so childish and backward that I shall not waste my time writing any more. I only feel sorry for the poor young people you are homeschooling into ignorance. Particularly if they are girls.

I'm really not worried about people who don't want women to vote, because one day it won't be and issue. Women will be running things anyway.

But seriously, I don't believe in one gender being in control over the other, or that one is "better" than the other, or that the differences between the genders is greater than the similarities.

However, the following is true and should be of concern to all of us. Men need encouragement from each other and women now more than ever.

More women than men attend college and earn degrees.
Women get better grades in college than men.
More women vote than men and the percentage of women voting is increasing.
The Y chromosome is in big trouble, (sad but true).
More men are in jail.
More men are murdered and commit murders.

So, I'm guessing the men committing these murders are doing so for "logical" reasons and not emotional ones???

I think men are wonderful people. My best friend is a man. He is also my husband. But he is first, a human being.
And so am I.

You're talking about minorities. Not every man, nor every 10,000th man commits a murder, however, the extremely high majority is emotional.

It is hardwired in males to go and provide for their families. To be thinkers and be logical and it is hardwired into the woman to look after the family... Well that's how it was supposed to be.

Am I saying women don't think and aren't logical? Absolutely not. I just think however their priorities are miss-aligned to how things are currently run. They just simply aren't designed to be in "power". It's not sexist, it's a fact.

I am of the female persuasion and really enjoyed reading your rant about the various reasons women should be denied the right to vote. (I found it very amusing in an insulting way). Before anyone starts calling me a traitor to my own gender hear me out... It is really sad but true that alot of women do not bother with voting, but this is changing. More youths particularily female youths ranging in age from 18-29 are voting. This is only my opinion but maybe we should find better candidates to vote for that appeal to everyone (or at least more people) rather than complain about women not voting when just as many men skip out come election day. On a final note more women than men voted in 2004. http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/voting/004986.html

Sep. 17, 2008 - women's right to vote

Soooo..... Interesting that all women in the US weren't allowed to vote until The election of 1920, and yet we actually still vote more than men. ("in the 1980 election women caught up with men, and according to U.S. Census data, in every subsequent election women have voted at an increasingly higher rate than men. In the 2000 elections, 56.2% of women reported voting, compared with 53.1% of men. Because women are a larger proportion of the population and vote at higher rates, about 7.8 million more women than men voted in the 2000 elections, and at least that many more women than men are likely to vote in 2004." From http://www.apsanet.org/content_5270.cfm)

It is certainly true that men and women don't have the same way of thinking (thankfully, or things would just get boring) "Brain scans reveal men are tuned to external events, while women pay attention to what's inside them." (from Livescience.com)

So, if we are all to live together as humans, it seems we can start looking at how we can live together in harmony. Facts are better to help support any cause, so you might want to find the facts before you write another blog that attacks a large group of individuals. It only took me looking up a couple of things to find the information I quoted.

I understand you wrote this before the 2004 election, and it was created to spur more women to vote, but I wonder what the real reason for writing this blog was. Are you bitter about something, or just ignorant? And if the latter is the case, I hope you are not voting this year.

By the way, I am a woman, I have voted in all but one election since I turned 18.

Galations 3:28 NIV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Point: I am in Christ, therefore I have the Spirit inside of me. I allow Him to lead me, and He gives me wisdom. Therefore, my husband is confident that God is leading me to vote on who I am convicted to vote for. MY HUSBAND ENCOURAGES ME TO VOTE, and I'm thankful that I have a husband that believes in the God inside of me!!

i have no idea why somebody would spend so much time researching why women should NOT vote. You are a chauvinist pig. Women should be treated exactly the same as everybody, we DO have logical bones in your body, but obviously you do NOT! if women should not allowed to vote why should people of different cultures, and colours, be allowed? you are ridiculous.

i hate you a lot too. some of the things you said were ignorant and stupid. i honestly can't believe somebody would say things like that. women are not not not not not INFERIOR to men at all. we were not meant to be helpers, we are meant to lead this country just as much as men are. just because in the past we were thought of as inferior does not mean we still are. women have shown that we deserve a voice in our country. there are very intelligent women out there. i dont understand how you can label every woman in america ditzy and suggest that they should not be allowed to vote. that is horrible. as soon as i turn eighteen i will be voting just as every single citizen in the united states should be allowed to do. if you live in this country you should have a say in everything that goes on no matter what gender or race you are. and i dont think ignorant people like you should try and convince anybody otherwise.i'm only fourteen years old and even i realize how stupid you sound. maybe you should look back on it and try and realize that yourself

I'm not even going to bother to refute you, because you're so backwards that I don't think I can possibly remove you from your primitive ideas.

You're making broad generalizations about all women based on the behaviour of some. Just because your home-grown Texan women seem to prefer cosmetics over politics doesn't mean all women do... though the same could be said about Texan men with beer and NASCAR, if we're going to be making stereotypes. If voting was limited to those who are extremely informed, then a tiny percentage of the population would have suffrage. And you wouldn't be part of that exclusive club.

Democracy is built on the idea of a government designed to represent the people. It's not a democratic nation if you refuse to give one group the right to vote.

May. 14, 2009 - Let women be submissive as god intended

Posted by Anonymous
I totally agree that women should Not be allowed to vote. I do not vote. My husband does. I believe that instead of women having the vote, there should be a meeting before the elections where women can voice their concerns. However, it is then up to the politicians (who should be male) to decide which of the issues the women have raised they should address.

Women should also be made to wear only skirts and dresses. I want a conservative government that will require women not to vote, not to wear trousers, not to live on their own (only with family or their husband) to be submissive to men, to remain completely silent in the churches, to wear modest clothing, to obey their fathers and husbands, to stay at home and not work (some jobs need women so only some women should work but not many) the state should look after widowed women so they don't have to work, if women are to work then they must have permission from their husbands or a male relative. I also believe there is no need for women to drive. Their husbands can drive them, they can walk, take buses etc.

I am a very conservative woman who is obedient and submissive to her husband. I do not drive, do not vote, am quiet when I am around my husband, in church and when I am around men. When it's just women I'm not so quiet, I have more fun.

I always cover my head in church and never speak during the church service. In our strict church women MUST not speak at all during the service, they must wear skirts and cover their hair. Our church is VERY strict and this is how I like it. I am a lady and this is how I want to remain.

Yes, Eve was created to help Adam, but not as an underling or servant to him, but as his equal. If you truly understood and actually read your Bible, you would understand this. God does not see women as inferior to men, and he did not create women to be inferior to men. This is evidenced by several books in the Bible, that are about women (Ruth, and Ester are just some of the strong women that there are books written about). Also, I don't know if you knew this, but the "bride price" that families received in exchange for their daughter's hand in marriage was not used to pay the family for the daughter as if she was a piece of property, but was rather used as a way to compensate the family for the loss of their precious daughter. Again, go back and read your Bible.
My husband, who fights for this nation, and for all that this nation stands for, including your outdated attitude towards women voting, feels that ANYONE who doesn't vote is doing this nation a great injustice!
I have voted in EVERY SINGLE election (including all the local elections) since I turned 18. And I don't vote for the "cute" people either, I vote for the ones who take the same stances I do on important issues such as education and economics. I research every candidate BEFORE I go to the voting booth, even though it takes a lot of time and effort to do so. I am an independent because I prefer to vote for the most qualified candidate whose beliefs are the most similar to mine, rather than voting along party lines. Then again, I am from a state above the Mason Dixon line, and women in the northern states tend to be considered "progressive" anyway. I will pray for you.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you are a bad person, but you need to stop using other humans as ladders to try to fing your own way. I am woman (you may say, obviously), and I say women and men were created as equals. Studies show that the human race needs far more men than women because we are child-bearers. I do have some veiws on this matter too, like how come women have to go through all that pregnancy crap, for some to lose thier child? Or how come God is a man, or why did Adam just HAVE to be before Eve? Seriously????

I agree that women in general focus less on the important issues and more on surface value. But you can't prevent all women from voting just because many (most?) are lacking in the critical thinking department. So why not just have a civics test of some sort, which people have to pass in order to be able to vote. People need to pass a test to drive right? So just make a test which tests people's ability to make sound judgement, and if they pass they get to vote. A lot of women would fail no doubt, but some men too.

You disgust me. Honestly, how could you think that way? Do you even think about your mother, sisters, nieces, your wife or daughters when you say complete bull**** like that? I'm a 20 year old woman, in college. I'm a feminist and I have voted in every election that I could participate in since I turned 18. I know that I can make better informed decisions than you can. You want to know why? I'm intelligent and I actually care about what goes on with the world and my country. How dare you think that women are incompetent? Everything has been handed to you because you are a man. Excuse me. I actually worked for everything that I earned. I respect the women that put their lives in danger to give me the right to vote? Did you ever hear of these women: Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony? You probably don't because you're too ignorant to educate yourself of anything that doesn't concern you.
And about you're Nixon/Kennedy debate, I highly doubt that women voted for Kennedy because he was 'cute'. He actually had intelligent views and was a human being. Just take a look at how Nixon's presidency panned out and look at all of the good work that JFK did.
You should really consider reevaluation your beliefs, ass. This is, in fact, the 21st century.

I am a young woman in my early twenties, and I agree with you somewhat. I am very emotional, and -most of the time- I don't know what I want. I usually listen to what men say, and if I disagree or resist and they don't stop me- I go my own way. If they try to stop me or correct me, I usually submit. I am given rights, and I use them to the extent that suits me at the time. If the government quickly and drastically took all rights away from all women as some men write in satire about; I honestly think that I would be angry at first, but I'd slowly accept and depend on the new laws. Although, a large percentage of American women do not act or think like me.

Might want to brush up on those skills there and learn some sensible objectivity before you go and pretend you know everything. I don't know what kind of a little hovel you come from, but maybe you should visit the rest of the country and find another excuse to express your sexism. You are the exact reason that men are more incompetent than women. Go get yourself an education, learn how to write properly (not like a fifth grader), and develop some respect. Maybe you'll get somewhere in the world other than Texas.

Oct. 28, 2009 - I vote.

I was raised in a politically aware family, and I have voted every single election since the day I turned 18. I tell my husband when to vote (because he doesn't pay attention to things like that). I campaign for people whom I feel best represent my beliefs, I sign and pass petitions to get referendums on the ballot that I believe are worthwhile.
I have discussions with my children about which issues are most important to us, and about where the candidates say they stand - and where their voting record says they stand - on those issues. My husband sometimes tunes in, but usually not.
Our children go in with me to vote, and see how the buttons / chads / levers work. My husband wants me to write down each thing he's supposed to vote on and how - which really just makes it where I'm voting twice - doesn't it?
I guess they could take my right to vote away - I'd still get one through my husband and will have 2 more through Godly, courageous young men whose moral and world view I have had substantive influence in shaping.

I honestly thought this was halarious although not all true this was funny stuff women in a sense have the right to vote but it was make the elections alot easier if we did not have the women vote and have the man of the house take a family vote and enter his ballot in that sense. with some exceptions that would work out and men have a tendency to not analyze as much granted not all. so poster girl you need to calm down aight?

Dec. 4, 2009 - This is the saddest thing I've heard in a long time...

Posted by Anonymous
Just a few facts you should know about me before I go on a rant
1. I am a girl
2. I am only 15 years old
3. I probably know more about what's going on around the world than you do
4. I participate in political discussions along with the adult males in my family
5. I am conservative and could honestly care less what politicians think about breast cancer... just saying
6. Gucci? I barely know what that is, fashion doesn't matter to me
7. I have a 3.9 grade point average, and that's unweighted

So what do you think about that? I defy every stereotype that you so clearly believe in, and the majority of my female friends do too. I am up to date on practically every single political issue going on in the world right now, and I'm not even old enough to vote. Do you think I'm gonna be even more in the know when I am old enough to vote? You better bet I will be. I admit that maybe women that are adults right now are not quite as interested in politics and are more interested in traditional women's roles, but I can guarantee you that the next generation on women won't be. You would understand that if you saw the political discussions in my family. My fourteen year old girl cousin and I are just as into the debates as the adult males are, and while I admit the adult females usually stay out of it me and my cousin are living proof that that's changing. Even my two twelve year old girl cousins are starting to learn more about politics. The boy kids in my family are too young to understand yet, but I can assure you that they will not understand politics faster than my cousin and I did. You're views are 100% sexist and don't take into account the intelligent women in the world, only the ditzy ones. Maybe you've never met a smart women or maybe you're just blinded by the stereotypes you so strongly believe in. Either way I feel sorry for you, I really do.

I am a 27 year old woman who was first eligible to vote in the year 2000 election (I turned 18 in July). I have voted each time I was eligible since, and when educated on issues. I do not vote according to such absurdities as "breast cancer", because items such as "breast cancer" are not presented as an actual concern...if people were truly concerned about breast cancer, abortion would be discouraged and breastfeeding would be encouraged. I vote according to the Constitution...you know, that document written 200+ years ago with such basics as "Freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and press". Right to bear arms. Right against illegal search and seizure. States' rights. Peoples' rights. Autonomy. Independence.

Ok,
well im australian, and i dont know what voting is like in texas, especially since the only thing i know about Texas is the disgusting stereotypes (irony anyone). but in Australia it is the law for EVERYONE to vote once they are 18.

this is because we all have EQUAL RIGHTS. each individual has a say in the country, and women in Australia don't just react to shallow stimuli's. have you seen our recent leaders? their hardly cute! i cant say anything about American women, but i doubt that the fact that they don't vote has anything to do with their intellects, but more to do with the idea that they are inferior. if people tell them that voting like their husbands vote is what people should do, encouraging them to be to lazy to think for themselves, then what do you expect them to do??

if you don't think for yourself here, then you don't achieve anything, we all get an equal chance at education, and thanks to the hex system we all have an equal opportunity to university, no matter how rich we are. our education come to us before our marrige, we learn to think and look after ourselves. if you were a women living here you would be laughed at for saying that you just do what your husband says, for having no mind of your own! WTF is wrong with you all! how can ppl honestly not CARE what happens to your country! who you elect!

ill let you on in a secret though, clinton is ugly! and the other more ugly presidents you've had recently... well lets just say im glad Obama won the election, clearly democracy is finally starting to work.

i came on to your blog in research on a history assignment, and i just wanted to scream out to you how much of a di*khe*d you are.

dont make the mistake of thinking that i believe women can do anything, because i know they cant. i understand that we cant be sent to war, and that we are not ohysically strong enough to play football, or that certain tassks could have serious effects on our wellbeing and our ability to have children. i know this, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt have equal rights in deciding who our leader is, how am i meant to follow someone and be loyal to their lead if i dont like or respect that person? how can a nation who doesnt give it women a voting righ say they are a fair democracy? thats like saying only white people can vote because only they have the intelect. say that too often (or at all) and you'd end up with a black eye.

Your attitude is disgusting, and a disgrace and i cant believe you have the nerve to publish it!

Jan. 17, 2010 - Reason for voting vs. Right to vote

Posted by HouseHusband
All of the people debating about "right to vote" have missed the point of the original post. They need to think with some logic and put their emotions aside. ;-)

It is titled, "Why women shouldn't vote." It does NOT say, "Why women shouldn't be allowed to vote." See the difference? Women may still have the "right", but he's asserting "reasons" why women shouldn't vote (even if they have the right.)

I think he should not be so exclusive to women. I would write it as, "Why most people (men and women) shouldn't vote."

Our freedom has dwindled because of how few critically-thinking people actually vote. I've conducted exit polls and have found MOST voters are uninformed politically-delusional zombies. They can't even paraphrase the Bill of Rights, therefore they are irresponsible and abusing their right to vote. Those who rely on MSNBC, CNN, Fox, Rush Limbaugh, Rosie O'Donnel, ...and so on..., for wisdom regarding the status quo should just stay home on election day.

One group who should definitely not vote are those who bite the "Do it for the children" hook. They are completely driven by emotion and do NOT see the full picture. Unfortunately, this group is often mostly women (Million Mom March?) For example, it's all too often that when I mention the 2nd Amendment to women they shiver and say, "I don't believe in guns," (What does that mean?) and dwell on famous tragedies (propaganda) involving children. But when I ask them to elaborate, they prove themselves to have been brainwashed by politicians that exploit personal tragedies for political expedience. I can try to discuss the (thousands of years of) history employed to frame the Constitution. But they think the 2nd is outdated because, "It was meant for people to have muskets if the British invaded." (They are clueless) They deny the God-given civil right to self-defense from enemies as both foreign and domestic (that means the government). They'll say, "All you need is a burglar alarm," and believe the police will protect them. It's not exclusive to women (some men bite this hook too). They ask, "Why do you need a gun?" I say, "It's our civil right to defend ourselves and our families." But they can't employ the logic to differentiate a Bill of Rights from a Bill of NEEDS. They bite the "Do it for the children" hook, yet they will extrapolate that same Consititution (which protects your civil right to self-defense) to justify infantcide-on-demand. Their minds are driven by emotion -- logical reasoning is inapplicable. Enough about guns and abortion...(they were just examples)...

"I'm a 'liberal'."
"What is a 'liberal'?"
"I believe in 'equal rights'."
"Well, I'm a 'conservative' and I believe in 'equal rights too'...according to the Constitution!" (Today's 'Republicans' are NOT conservatives.)

When comes down to it, most people (men and women) are not qualified to vote because they are misinformed (if at all) and lack the logic to be an objective critical thinker. Most people are very gullible (that's why they are followers NOT leaders.) I find too many (not all) women are continually deluded by emotional propaganda (not thinking logically), and too many (not all) men are frankly stupid (misinformed).
