Description: Green Street teams up with 88.1 WESUfm and Middletown High School students for an eclectic monthly series featuring high school and college-age musicians. Prepare yourself for a big variety of sounds-folk, emo, punk, jazz, bluegrass-up to three bands are featured each night. Doors open at 7:30pm.

Description: Instructor: Andrew Nemr. After he brought down the house at the 2006 DanceMasters Weekend at Wesleyan, Nemr returns to Middletown with another high-energy master class designed for students with intermediate to advanced tap experience. A founding member of Savion Glover's Ti Dii, and a protégé of Dianne Walker, Nemr has had an extensive performing history including at New York's Apollo Theater and at The Joyce, and as the artistic director of his own company, CPD (Cats Paying Dues). A faculty member at Broadway Dance Center, Nemr's class will emphasize rhythm and syncopation. Take the workshop or the jam, or do both!

Description: This monthly showcase features some of Connecticut's most exciting talent. Gina Ulysse was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti. She is the middle child of three sisters. In her early teens, they all migrated to the East Coast of the United States. Her family and has lived there ever since. Trained as an anthropologist, she is also a poet/performer and multi-media artist. Haiti is the main focus of her works.

Description: John Finn is a Professor of Government at Wesleyan. He received his B.A. from Nasson College, a law degree from Georgetown University, a doctorate in political science from Princeton University, and a degree in culinary arts from the French Culinary Institute. Professor David Beveridge hosts this monthly Q&A, designed to introduce Wesleyan faculty to the community-at-large. Exchange ideas, make new friends and enjoy wine and cheese in the company of other creative minds!
The Green Street Arts Center, which opened in January 2005, is a three-story arts and education center, founded by Wesleyan University in collaboration with the City of Middletown and the North End Action Team to provide an anchor for the revitalization efforts already underway in the North End. Programming in the former schoolhouse at 51 Green Street includes a vibrant after school program and a wide range of affordable classes and workshops for children and adults in music, dance, visual arts, theater, sound recording, media arts and creative writing.
