Maple Festival at Sweet Wind Farm in East Hartland, CT!
It's maple sugaring season here at Sweet Wind Farm, and we invite all homeschoolers and families to attend our 2nd Annual Maple Festival on Saturday, March 8, from 10-4. It will feature maple syrup and sugar making demonstrations, sugarhouse tours, narrated slide show, video, storytime for kids, recipe class, free taste samples, food and more! A fun and educational day out for everyone. Free admission. Sweet Wind Farm is located at 339 South Road, rte. 179, East Hartland, Ct. Homeschoolers are also invited to schedule a private group class and tour anytime between now and the beginning of April to learn about maple sugaring. This class is a hands-on learning experience. Your hosts Susan and Arlow Case have been making maple syrup together for over 20 years, and Arlow has since he was 8! Susan is an experienced teacher who will guide your children in this field trip. Fee is $5.00 per student, parents and siblings under 5 are free, family max at $10.00. Class includes take home materials and complimentary maple candy. Call to schedule a class at 860-653-2038.
