Introduction to Sewing Unit I – Ages 8 -11

Start with Unit I where you learn how to use a sewing machine, then sew a baby’s blanket, tote, and pillow case.  There are 6 units in all with this comprehensive course that teaches you how to sew clothes too.  Students are responsible for purchasing fabric, thread, and sewing supplies.  Class fee includes workbook, lessons, patterns, and skill cards.  Class meets every day for two weeks.

July 7 – 18 – 9:30-11:30am   OR   August 4-15 – 9:30-11:30am

Fee:  $120 plus cost of fabric and supplies

Intermediate Sewing Level II – Ages 16 and up.

A-Line skirt.  This class is open to Beginning Sewing Graduates or experienced sewers who want to get back into sewing.  Meets once per week and is ongoing.  After constructing a skirt, we continue with a top or dress, jumper, pants or shorts, tailored blouse, and finish with a jacket.  Each project takes several weeks to finish as most of the work is done in class.   And you work at your own pace.  There is a lot of fun and rewarding work involved with this class.

June 10 – Ongoing

6:30-8:30

Fee:  $45/month

OPEN SEW – Open to sewers who want to get together and work on whatever they want, independently.  I can help if you get stuck.  Refreshments provided.  Space is limited so please call to reserve your spot.  This is not a class, but a time to get together with other sewers to sew and visit.  June 20, July 18, and August 15.  Fee:  $5

Please call as soon as possible to sign up for these classes as space is limited.  Classes are held in my sewing studio in Torrington.  If you need a sewing machine, please let me know.  I have new machines for sale at reasonable prices.

If you have any questions, please call or email.
