Living my life for God!

My daily Bible verse! :)

2008

9:07 PM, Jan. 19, 2008

Well, its a new year again and I cant wait to see what God has in store for me and my family! I was recently asked to join the leadership team at my church's youth group and be a small group leader for the 5th and 6th grade girls. I am still praying about whether or not I will accept this offer. I think it would be fun to be a leader in a youth group though! :)

I am also going to start playing bass!!!! :D I have wanted to for a really long time and I think I might get a bas guitar tomorow! I am so excited!! I have teamed up with some friends and we are going to have a band, think we are calling it Ignite. We thought of the name because we were thinking about helping people get on fire for God and stuff so what better name than Ignite, we are igniting the fire in peoples heart for Christ, also, once ignited Gods love will spread like  fire. idk. I think its cool! :)

Hopefully, I will be getting my drivers lisence this summer as well! I still need to take drivers ed but I will get to that soon enough. I really want to start driving so I can get a job, so I can have money. I am not enjoying being broke all the time! (lol) Caylin and I are hoping to take drivers ed together which I think that will make it a whole lot more fun.

Great news... Friday School is starting in less than a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I cant wait for it to start again! It seems like this break has been for forever! My parents are really excited too because there are first class co-ops starting all over the country!! We are even getting requests from other countries! This thing jis just taking off and I don't think it will be long before every one of you has an opportunity to join the fun! :D CHeck out the website, www.fchm.org

Well thats all the time I have, I know it isn't much and yes, I know I am a pretty pathetic excuse for a blogger considering I never get on but oh well, what can I say, I am busy. lol ttly

10:16 AM, Dec. 19, 2007

Hey!

Well, I just got back from Kansas City Missouri! It was way fun! Sierra and I went there to visit family friends, Boompa and Sweetie!.. thats what we call them anyway. :) We did a ton of fun stuff! We got to go to a really cool art museum and an even cooler museum with this steam boat from before the civil war that had sunk in the river there. These people dug it up and found a ton of stuff in it! LIke seriously it was crazy how much stuff they found!! If you want to learn a little bit about it here is the link.. (I thought it was pretty interesting)  Steamboat Arabia info

We also went shopping a lot and went to a ton of nice restaurants! I got to go see A Christmas Carol! I was so fun! I think that was the first real big play I have gone to. It was really exciting for me! :) So yeah, I had a lot of fun!

Okay this is cool, while I was standing in line to get on the plane I tlooked like 5 people behind me and there was someone I knew getting on the same plane! It was crazy! A plane is like the last place I would think to run into someone! So yeah, it's pretty fun getting to sit next to someone you know on a plane! :D

Well, I hope you all have a WONDERFUL christmas!!! :D Dont forget why we are celebrating! He came because He loves YOU!

My life and God vs. Science Professor

12:57 PM, Dec. 1, 2007

Today is the FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER! :D I dont know why, that just excites me! I am also excitied because in only 4 days I am going to go to Missouri to visit some friends for a week! :D:D That will be the farthest east that I have ever traveled! Now that is exciting!

How about u all? Anything new and fun happening? We just put up our c-mas decor the other day and it looks so beautiful! It started snowing as we were putting up our tree. :) That was cool! I read this thing on Caylin's blog and decided to re-post it on mine because i thought it was cool! :) So I know it is long but trust me, the end is really good so you should read the WHOLE thing!!! ;)

(I think this will definantly be the longest post I have ever written! LOL)

God vs. a Science Professor

A science professor begins his school year with a lecture to the students, "Let me explain the problem science has with religion." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.

"You're a Christian, aren't you, son?"

"Yes sir," the student says.

"So you believe in God?"

"Absolutely."

"Is God good?"

"Sure! God's good."

"Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?"

"Yes."

"Are you good or evil?"

"The Bible says I'm evil."

The professor grins knowingly. "Aha! The Bible!" He considers for a moment. "Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?"

"Yes sir, I would."

"So you're good...!"

"I wouldn't say that."

"But why not say that? You'd help a sick and ed person if you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't."

The student does not answer, so the professor continues. "He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Hmmm? Can you answer that one?"

The student remains silent.

"No, you can't, can you?" the professor says. He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax.

"Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?"

"Er...yes," the student says.

"Is Satan good?"

The student doesn't hesitate on this one. "No."

"Then where does Satan come from?"

The student falters. "From God"

"That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?"

"Yes, sir."

"Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything, correct?"

"Yes."

"So who created evil?" The professor continued, "If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil."

Again, the student has no answer. "Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things, do they exist in this world?"

The student squirms on his feet. "Yes."

"So who created them?"

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his question. "Who created them?" There is still no answer. Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class is mesmerized. "Tell me," he continues onto another student. "Do you believe in Jesus Christ, son?"

The student's voice betrays him and . "Yes, professor, I do."

The old man stops pacing. "Science says you have five senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen Jesus?"

"No sir. I've never seen Him."

"Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?"

"No, sir, I have not."

"Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelt your Jesus? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus Christ, or God for that matter?"

"No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't."

"Yet you still believe in him?"

"Yes."

"According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?"

"Nothing," the student replies. "I only have my faith."

"Yes, faith," the professor repeats. "And that is the problem science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith."

The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a question of His own. "Professor, is there such thing as heat?"

"Yes," the professor replies. "There's heat."

"And is there such a thing as cold?"

"Yes, son, there's cold too."

"No sir, there isn't."

The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested. The room suddenly becomes very quiet. The student begins to explain. "You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit up to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees."

"Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it."

Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a hammer.

"What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as darkness?"

"Yes," the professor replies without hesitation. "What is night if it isn't darkness?"

"You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word."

"In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?"

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him. This will be a good semester. "So what point are you making, young man?"

"Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed."

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time. "Flawed? Can you explain how?"

"You are working on the premise of duality," the student explains. "You argue that there is life and then there's ; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought."

"It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that cannot exist as a substantive thing. is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it."

"Now tell me, professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?"

"If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do."

"Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?"

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.

"Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?"

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided.

"To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean."

The student looks around the room. "Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?" The class breaks out into laughter.

"Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir."

"So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?"

Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the student, his face unreadable.

Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. "I guess you'll have to take them on faith."

"Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life," the student continues. "Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?"

Now uncertain, the professor responds, "Of course, there is. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil."

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

The professor sat down.

New template!!!!!! :D:D

1:09 PM, Nov. 6, 2007

Hey everyone! What do you think of my new template!? Caylin did it for me because I have no talent in that area what-so-ever! I am excited when I figure out how to change a color! lol Thank you so much Caylin you ROCK MY SOCKS! lol

So how has everyone been? Its been a while but now that I have a new template that is way cool I think it will modivate my to log on more often. I have had a carazy to the max life! I had my sweet 16 on sept. 23rd and had an awesome party! It was crazy because when I googled 16 birthday parties I just found a bunch of parties where people rent ballrooms or their mom gives them a 4,000 dollar limit to their party planning it months in advance. Okay, 16 is a big birthday but not THAT big! LOL So yeah that was interesting. Made my laugh anyways. :D

Friday school has been SO MUCH FUN! I have been enjoying every minute of it! Well, thats not entirely true... I am lost in chemistry but oh well. Caylin comes over every Thursday night to go with me and my fam to Friday school and that has been way too fun! Its sad tho because we only have 2 weeks left of this semester! *cries Then we go on c-mas break. A happy/sad time for all us friday schoolers. lol If you see the first class link on my page that is friday school you can get one where you live! It is so worth it! talk to your parents asap! you really are missing out!

Okay..... what now... hmmm well we painted our house! It used to be this ugly blueish grey color and now it is a happy.. hm what color is it, I think I would say that it is a darkish, lightish, tanish, mutardish, brownish color. I dont know. Oh well it looks really good tho! After we painted the house we tore down our rotten deck and built a new one! It gets even better, THEN my dad put a door in the basement so we wouldnt have to go all the way around the house to get wood for the fire place! :D That was huge for me!

For my dads 40th b-day (oct. 30) my grandparents took us to the beach where we got 2 condos in this big huge condo building! IT was so COOL!  we were on the eighth floor and our room had a veiw of the ocean! (look in the pic of me and spencer that is on our deck :) the condo place was right on the beach so all we had to do was walk out of the building and onto the beach to chill in the sun! The place was shaped like a giant U and the top part of the U was faced towards the ocean. In the middle of the U was the swimming pool which was really cool because you could swim and see teh ocean at the same time! It rocked! We were there for 4 days so it was kinda like a mini vacation. :)

Well g2g do cleaning, watching kid stuff. lol

wazzup!?

10:48 PM, Aug. 25, 2007

Hey!

how have you all been? It's been a while! My summer has been really fun! I have been so busy! I am always busy... ;) I have enjoyed no school but honestly, I cant wait to start again! I am excited about  Friday School and I like to have the structure in the day. :) How about you? Happy to start? Or are you gonna miss the long lazy summer dayz? I suppose I am torn both ways.  It has been a crazy year for me... my parents are trying to get this ministry off the ground and take it national and whoah, it takes a LOT of work and time and effort! I am so proud! :)

Well, I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before but... dun dun dun DUN! I got my drivers permit!!!! I have had it for like 4 months now.... I think .....and it has ROCKED! I love driving it is so much fun! =D I was worried about driving on the freeway and stuff at first but it really is easy... until something happens like a car darts out infront of you when you had the right of way or somehting like that. :/ Then it can be scary. My aunt taught me how to drive stick the other day. Now THAT is hard! I think when I get a car I want a automatic... but then again it would be good to know how to drive stick and have experience with it... idk. o.0 lol   What do you think?

I am really excitied because i might be doing horse 4H this year... I still dont know if that will work out. I know this lady who has 5 horses and she is going to be doing 4H with her daughter and she said I could use one of her horses to do 4H with. She is sooo nice! I am thrilled! I also might be doing a homeschool choir this year, I think that would be fun, but I am kinda nervous because I have never done something like that before.... we'll see. ;)

So tell me how you have been and what you have all been up to please! :D:D

fine fine fine

10:20 PM, Mar. 31, 2007

geezee, fine I will add another entry. You guys complain too much. jk LOL I am so glad u all luv me! ;) Well, you are probubly wondering what I have been up to.... well, I have been really busy doing FUN things! Lets go back to January, when I last posted...........

Well, shortly after I posted that, I went to my Aunt Loy's house for 5 days. She lives on the Oregon coast so we had a lot of fun on the beach! :D We went on lots of hikes and to nice restaurants and we explored caves on the beach! It was so cool! We also went to a zoo thing only smaller and the animals were like running around the place FREE! (just goats, donkeys, animals like that) but besides them they had  bears and lions and tigers and moose and yeah. Lots of animals. Anyways, while I was there I got to pet a live couger!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was awesome! I also got to pet a live lion!!! They were both babies...big though, almost full grown! I was so excited! It was so fun going there to see her! They have a very cute house on 2 acres in the woods. Really cute house!

That was at the end of January, after that I went to Spokane WA for a homeschool conference that my parents were in charge of. I loved being able to help out and answer questions and stuff like that. It was crazy fun! We were there for 3 days.

And that was in early Feb. After that, whew, guess what happened.... my Aunt Hope surprised Sierra and I and took me, Sierra, my cousins Lorelle, and Lexi, and a family friend Hosea to DISNEYLAND! Is that sick or what?!?! I was so excited! We left for L.A. on the 1st of March and went straight to my Aunt Haley's house(she lives there) On the first day, we went to the beach and road 2 person bikes down the bike road on the beach. (beautiful weather!) That was really fun! On the second day, we went to Hollywood and walked where all the stars put their handprints in the pavement. We kinda walked around the stores and stuff. I got a really cute pair of shades there. ;) On the 3rd day we made our way to DISNEYLAND! We booked our hotel at the Disneyland hotel, concierges level! We had a view of Downtown Disney out our balcony. We walked to Disneyland from there. Most the time was spent on the huge rides. I went on screamin california 6 times. :D We spent 3 days at Disneyland. It ROCKED! Hosea treated all of us to dinner at the rainforest cafe one night, that restaurant was AMAZING it looked like a rainforest inside! One of the nights all the girls went out (just the girls) and we spent all night(until midnight) in Disneyland. :) I felt like something from a movie! It was so so so so fun! I still can't believe I went! I found out I was going only the week before! So sweet! ah, it was fun!

So that is what has been happening with me, oh yeah and our basement just flooded too. That wasn't too fun. That happened a week ago tonight. We still don't have carpet down there. Well, gotta run!

8:08 PM, Jan. 30, 2007

hey everyone! Sorry I haven't added an entry in a loonnnnnggggg time. I know, it is sad. I have been really busy...and lazy. ;) LOL yeah, pretty much.

I have been really busy with school and my parents have been busy trying to get Friday School going again. It is hard for everyone to have so much work to get done! It is crazy! My parents are presidents of the Washington Association of Teaching Christian Homes. And we have a HUGE  conference coming up this February, so they have been REALLY busy with that. I don't know how they do it, I have amazing parents! So yeah, that has made our lives really insane lately! LOL But I think if we weren't this busy, I would be really bored!

Guess what, ok you probably already know but I am now going horseback riding every Friday! AAHHHHH!YAY I am sooooo glad! It is really fun! I ride a bay Arabian horse named JR....not JR as in junior, just J R. (bay is the color of the horse, a dark brown) He is almost 30 years old which is old for a horse, but despite his age, he is extremely energetic when he wants to be! The other day, Ryan, the son of the lady who owns the horse, was galloping JR (like I mean a complete super amazing fast run) across the field we were at. It was so tight! I haven't ridden in so long that I wasn't about to try that yet! LOL I have so much fun and it is such a blessing to me that I get to go ride him! I hope to have a horse of my own some day!

Other than that, i have nothing to say....oh yeah! I am going to my aunt Loy's new house to spend the weekend tomorrow. :) Remember, she is the one who my uncle left and is now married to the sweetest guy who happens to live 6 hours away. :) :( mixed feelings on that. LOL I am excited to visit her new house. I will blog about it when I get back so ya all can hear how it went! :D The only bummer is that I will be gone on Friday resulting in missing mucking stalls and horseback riding. Oh well, I know I will have a blast with her and my cousins River and Landon and Banner, my new uncle.....sorta. lol Well, I hope to hear from all of you! Have a wonderful awesome totally rad week!

thanx for praying!

6:28 PM, Jan. 14, 2007

Thank you all for praying! Gena's hand is getting way better. Turns out it wasn't a spider bite. It was a staff infection that she somehow got from her nose. So, they still thought that they would have to amputate it. They managed to get it under control, and now they think it will be ok after all!  I think that your prayers really helped!  For a while it was looking like it wasn't gonna get better, it was really bad! Now she is waiting for it all to get better her hand is a lot skinnier than it used to be and she will probubly have a scar but other than that she is ok! Thanks again!
