HELP.... We Need A Movie!
My oldest daughter (almost 11) and I are going to have a girls night in. You know, do each others nails, pop popcorn, and watch a movie. Now the tricky part is WHAT MOVIE? I could use some suggestions on a clean cut movie that would appeal to a preteen girl. It can even be an oldie. Thanks a bunch. ~Karlie

Hi! I have a 10 year old daughter, and she loved the movie- "That Darn Cat" with Haley Mills. It is an oldie and very cute.

Hi. Found you on the "latest 100" list on the homepage.
My daughter and I like "Little Women," old musicals, like "The King and I" and "The Sound of Music," and old TV shows, like "Nancy Drew," "The Waltons," and "Little House on the Prairie."
Have fun, and enjoy your one-on-one time with your darling daughter!
Many blessings!

We watch 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and other musicals. They like Shirley Temple, The Andy Griffith show, The Lucy Show. We get DVD's from the local dollar store pretty cheap sometimes. We have started collecting old Disney films, from before they went bad.

Gone with the Wind was on t.v. this weekend. I never got a chance to see it, but now I'm itching to watch it again. Haven't seen it since i was about 15. :-) Jeremy's more interested in 24 though, so maybe I'll have to find a girlfriend to watch it with. :-) Hope you and your daughter had a good time!

Meet Me in St Louis definitely if you are into romances and musicals...Casablanca if she is into dialog or one of the Thin Man movies with William Powell. Princess Bride is always a favorite at our house. It has adventure, romance, and dialogue, but no singing! Have fun!

So how'd it go? What did you end up watching? My kids are just getting to the age that they're enjoying watching some of the classics with me. Of course they love Shirley Temple, but now I've started introducing Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Audrey Hepburn. It's funny though, now that I'm a grown-up, I'm realizing that these black-and-white classics that I grew up with are not necessarily the most moral movies...most of it goes over their heads, but still, you just can't take anything for granted.
