Update

Well, How is everyone?  Once agian I am sorry that I haven't put anything up in a long time.  So I will go through everything that has been going on with me very fsat!

So,  first thing is that I did move.  I LOVE the new house.  It is so big and we have an 8 stall horse barn now!  I will tell you more about the house another time.

The next thing is we got a horse.  He is a 4 month old colt named Khahoots.  I know that that isn't really spelled correctly but we had to keep the Kh in his name because is "Grandpa" was a famous stud and a world champion named Khemosabi.  I am going to try to show him in WSCA halter shows next year.  He is 3/4 Arabian and 1/4 Saddlebred.

The other thing is that the fair was a BLAST!  It was so much fun.  It wen't really well.  I got last in all my classes but I don't really know if that was right.  I don't really know if the judge was the best.  I know that I wasn't the best out there but I don't think that I should have gotten last in all my classes.  In halter I knew that I would do bad so that wasn't so bad.  But I think that my bad performance in Halter left a bad impression on the judge.  The next class was Western Pleasure,  that was my favorite.  It went so well, I could really feel XL under me and we were very focused on our performance and I am telling you we had it together.  But when it was all over the judge had us all line up and he went from person to person tell them what the mistakes were like head being to high and trot to fast and that kinda stuff but when he got to me he didn't say anything!  But the worst one was Western Horsemanship,  we were the only team that did a flying lead change and we still got last.  The other thing that happend was that I was doing barrels and XL did good around the first barrel but she always gets jumpy around the second barrel,  so thats what happend at the fair she got all jumpy at the second barrel and the judge was sitting in the arena in a lawn chair!  Well,  as we were going around the second barrel she went nuts and backed up on the judge the judge jumped out of the chair just in time too because she steped on the chair and put a big hole in it.  I thought it was really funny.  The thing is I don't know why the judge was sitting there.

The last thing is that I got a call from a camp in northern Minnesota asking me if I would be willing to come to the camp and be a counselor.  I was really excited because my best friend Andy is going to be there to.  You may know Andy as 00stormspotter.  So, I will tell you how that goes when I get back.  I am going to leave to day to go to camp so I am going to fix all my mistakesin this post latter.

Ok I will talk to y'all latter!

Yes I am still around.

Well, how has everyone been doing?  It is really bad that I haven't posted anything in a long time.  I thought I would just through an update in here real fast.

First is that I may be moving!  There is a place 20 minutes north of wear I live now that is for rent.  The house is SO nice.  It is 3,000sq ft with an in ground pool and an 8 stall horse barn with 40 acers!  I am so excited!  We will be renting our house out to a ministry that helps people that are getting over an addiction.  So we have renters for our house but now we are waiting to know if the house we want is still open.  They will be calling with the answer any second now.  I haven't been able to do anything today because I just want a yes or no on the house.  We know the people that own the house and are very good friends with them so it will be nice to have good christian land lords!  I just can't stop thinking about it!  I try to get my mind on other things but I can't!  The house is just so nice!  If it all works out I will post some pics on here.

The other thing is that the fair is only a month away.  I think we will do good in western pleasure and western horsemanship but I don't know about the halter class.  OH! thats another  thing about the house.  It is only a mile from wear XL lives now!  Preacher said that if we move there he will let me keep XL with us!  So... thats all the news about the horses I have right now.

I don't know if there is anything else to tell you all.  I have to go hang out my close on the line so I will talk to you latter.  Leave a comment!

Run for the roses!!!!!

Well, it is that time of year again.  Time for the Kentucky Derby!  Though it is still about 1 month away it is fast approaching!  I must first say that their is perhaps a better sport that we as christians could get into.  Their is just so much gamboling and beting that goes into that sport and if you are a born agian christian then you should take to heart the words of 1 Timothy 6:10  "For the love of Money is the root of all evil: which while some covoted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced  themselves through with maney sarrows.

Last years race was very exciting with Big Brown, eight bells and the others.  I think that there will be a great line up of horses this year because their doesn't seem to be any that are just dominating the sport.  Here are a few of the horses that should be makeing it to the Kentucky Derby.

Quality Road has done very well this year winning 3 out of 4 starts.  With his lattest win, The Florida Derby, under his belt (or should I say cinch?) he is considered in the top three favorites for the Kentucky Derby.  However, their is a quarter crack on one of his back hooves.  "It would be premiture to say that the horse wouldn't be able to make the derby." So says Quality Road's trainer Jimmy Jerkens.  If you want to read the story wirten by a professional go to www.nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30074830.

I Want Revinge,  wow what a horse!  After winning the Wood Mamorial after a very poor start the questian is could he do it at the Kentucky Derby?.  I Want Revinge was the last horse out of the gates and stayed behind the other seven horses competing in the race untill the eighth pole when he found a clear path and took it, winning the race.  That is the second straight stakes win for him!  He is defiantly a favorite for the Derby!  More info can be found at www.nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30047274.

Pioneer of the Nile is another horse to watch out for in the Derby.  After takeing the lead on the backstrech at Sante Aneta Park then loseing it people were beginning to wonder if he was even going to be able to win the race.  But in the strech he was able to take back the lead and win the race by one length!  So don't over look Pioneer of the Nile!  The fact that Bob Baffert ,a 3 time Kentucky Derby winner, is Pioneer of the Nile's trainer could give him a edge in the race.  If you want to know more about Pioneer of the Nile go to www.seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/othersports/2008987219_horse05.html.

There are a few other horses to keep an eye on.  Such as Freezen Fire, Chocolate Candy and Musket Man.  The ones the I told you about are the top three favorites for the race so far.  Like that means anything. After all it is a horse race!  But it is 10:10pm on the night of the April 11th and I have to sing for church tomorrow!  I will post another entry about "The most exciting 2 minutes in sports" as it draws closer.  Thank you for reading!  Please leave a comment even if you don't like horse raceing!

CowboyKing

P.S.  I am posting this now without proof reading it because I am to tired to care.  I will do it after church tomorrow.  Please forgive any mistakes.

I am still on this earth!!!!!!!!

I should first start by saying that I am sorry it has taken me so long to post a new entry.  I am sorry Andy that I didn't get these pics up sooner.

Before I tell you about these pics I just wanted to let all my friends who jump there horses know that I jumped my horse for the first time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!  I did it with Excel!!!!!!!  It was all very fun.  I think the only way to explane it would be to say that the horse can jump I can't.  She would do an amazing jump but I would bounce right out of the saddle then come smashing down once she landed.  I am going to put a entry up here pretty soon to tell you all how good of a horse she is.  Like how she supposedly knows how to bow and jump and barrel race and dressage ect...

Now about these pictures.  00stormspotter and I went to a youth conferance in Fargo North Dakota last month.  We had so much fun!!!!!!!  There was like 3 hourse of preaching every day and 4 on Sunday!!!!!  We stayed at someones house for free and they fed us and took us where we needed to go.  It was like haveing a staff working for you.  The most exciting part of the trip was when we stayed up for like 40 hours or something like that.  We got up at 7:00am on Sunday and we or I didn't go to bed till 9:00pm on Monday.  Andy went to bed at 6:00pm on Monday evening!!!!!!!!  We were going to bed at 3 but we got into some really good conversations and when we looked at the time it was like 5:15am so we thought why not just stay up all night!!!!!  We were SSSOOOO tired on Monday!!!!!!  I was trying to stay awake during the preaching but it was like I had no control over it.  I was counting in the fact that our host was going to fix coffee with our breakfast.  But she didn't!!!!!!!!!!!  So I thought I would get some mountian Dew when we got to the church.  They didn't have any.  They had some other coke but it didn't do any good.  So here are some pics of our trip.

This is us at about....oohhh....like 7am on Monday.

We went bowling when we were over there.  I think someone ran there car into this piller.  My guess is that they were drunk.  Doesn't it look like he is the one who punched it!!!!!!

After it was all said and done we were zonked!!!!!!!!!!  I should tell you that I am the person that took this pic.  I held the camra away from me and took it.

Thank you for reading!!!!!!!!!!  Please leave a comment.  I have 97 of them maybe you could be number 100!!!!  Talk to you latter.

War of the Ranches

War of the Ranches

Chapter 1

The weather was cool in Guthrie, Texas in September of 1885.  The sun was just beginning to set when the cowboys of the Bar K Ranch got back to their bunkhouse.  It had been a long day for the cowboys that worked for Mr. Shane, the owner of the Bar K.  They had been in the saddle all day looking for strays that had escaped the night before.  The reason for their escaping was the owner of the neighboring ranch; Mr. Black, had ordered his boys to cut the fences of the Bar K’s grazing pastures.  This was just another dirty trick in a long line of dirty tricks that had occured since Mr. Shane had moved to the area the year before to try his hand in ranching.

The reason for the quarrelling between the two ranches is that before Mr. Shane started his ranch, Mr. Black had all the range land he wanted.  Now that the Bar K was there, he couldn’t let his herds graze wherever he wanted them to.  He was restricted to just a specific area, and the Bar K had the best grass in probably all of Texas.  This isn’t to say that Mr. Black’s Circle B Ranch didn’t have good grazing land; it just didn’t have grass quite the quality of the Bar K.

The logic behind Mr. Black’s thinking was simple.  I am one of the first ranchers in this part of the country. I stared my ranch before Mr. Shane was even walking, I have been using that range land for twenty years and how dare he waltz in here and start using it for himself.  The logic behind Mr. Shane’s thinking was; there is enough Texas for both of us.

As the cowboys of the Bar K were unsaddling there horses, Mr. Shane walked into the barn and said “saddle those horses back up boys. We’re going to pay Mr. Black a visit.” After the grumbling and retaking was over, they were headed to the Circle B at full speed.  As they rained up in front of Mr. Black’s house the cowboy’s of  the Circle B came shuffling out of there bunkhouse, guns ready.  Mr. Shane put his hand up and said

“We don’t want gun play.  I just want to talk to your boss.”

The foreman of the Circle B looked up at Mr. Shane (who had not bothered to dismount) and said, “He doesn’t have time to talk to trespassers like you.”

“That is government range land Bob and you know it.  Now let me speak with Mr. Black,” Mr. Shane replied.

     “He isn’t here,” said Bob.

Mr. Shane eyed him suspiciously for a second then said, “Do you expect me to believe you?” said Mr. Shane

“You have my word Mr. Shane He went to Amarillo on business,”  replayed Bob

“When will he be back?” said Mr. Shane.

“I don’t know.  When he gets done I reckon,” replied Bob

“Well then Bob I will tell you if I find one fence that is cut or one watering tank with holes shot in it, I am coming back here and you will wish you had left me alone.”  After saying that he wheeled his horse around and took off back to his ranch with his men following close behind him.

I have started writeing a "book" for school.  I finished the first chapter today.  I am up for constructive criticism so tell me what you think.  Thanks for reading Please leave a comment.

I don't know what to call this entry.

So, how is every one?  I have been doing good.  Busy but good. Before I say anything else I want to know who said I looked like a Redneck?  I am not offended buy that at all I just want everyone to know I am not a Redneck.

I think the only really exciting thing to tell you all is that I went riding on Friday.  It was a lot of fun.  The only thing is that Copenhagen was acting like he had never been ridden in his life.  It was like in the upper 30s on Friday, so the horses were just really acting up.  Anyway, he was just being a pain in the butt.   We went for a rid down the road.......well we didn't "ride," we turnd in circles as we went.   When a horse is acting up you are supposed to turn them in tite circles.  We would be going really good then he would stop, throw his head up, and start wallking backwards, and I would turn him and slap him with the riens.  I did make him go all the way though.  After I was done with Copenhagen, Hannah, our friend, and myself had to put out a round bail for the horses, an 800 Ib round bail might I add.  It took us an hour and half to get it out to the pasture.  After we got it out there the girls went back into the house, and I went to the barn and got Excel out.  I didn't get to ride her for very long.  My mom showed up and then her and Miss Sue had to go visit a friend that has breast cancer.  I am not allowed to ride if my mom or Miss Sue isn't there.  Its just a mom thing you know.  After they left I took Excel back to the barn and groomed her for a little bit.  Then I fixed a saddle and cleaned the barn a little.  So, all in all it was great.

After I was done with all the riding, I went back to the house and had a cup of coffee and listened to Willy Nelson and George Strait with Preacher.  I love talk to him. He is so funny.  We were talking about what he should do if he won the lottery.  We decided that he should start a ranch in Wyoming and build a big house for him and his family, and then he would build a bunk house and a barn.  So, he would have a really big cattle operation, and I would ride the range looking for strays.  He said there would probably be a lot of them because he wouldn't be the best ranch manager because he would be sitting on the veranda eating steak that the Mexican cook he is going to hire cooked for for him.  So, thats what is new with me.

I am leaving for Fargo on Friday for a youth conference.  I think its going to be a lot of fun.  I will post something about it when I get back.  Thanks for reading.  Please leave a comment.

Excel

Hello everyone!!!!!!! How are you all doing? I am doing good. I have been SO busy that I can hardly stand it. Well, its not that bad as a matter of fact I like being busy. Well, just to give you an idea of how busy I am every Monday night, every Tuesday, every other Thursday are booked forthe next two months and I am going to try to go riding every Friday plus school and Church. But I am very thankful to the Lord for everything He has done for me! Well, I am not writeing this entrry to tell you how busy I am.

AND NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT SHOWING COPENHAGEN IN THE FAIR!!!!!!!!!! Please let me explain. The Monte's have a horse by the name of Excel. She is a 15 year old regesterd Paint Horse. However, she does not look like a paint horse. If you were to look at here you would say she is a Querter Horse but she has a white stirpe that is about 6" long and that is what makes her a Paint Horse that and her Pedigree also requires her to be regesterd as a Paint Horse. Anyway, I am going to be showing her in the county fair! I just don't think that Copenhagen is going to be ready to show. He is just to much of a cow horse. Allow me to tell you some of her pros and cons.

Excel's Pros.

#1. She has done western pleasure shows in the past.

#2. She is defenitly smarter than Copenhagen. (sorry Copenhagen.)

#3. Her legs are strait. Why do I say that? Because Copenhagen has one crooked leg and he will get points off for that in halter showing.

#4. Excel knows that she needs to keep her neck down. Copenhagen always has his head up in the air.

So those are some of the Pros of Excel. Now for the Cons.

Cons of Excel.

#1. She had heaves last year. It is really a miracle that she didn't die.

#2. She had been ridden only 2 time in 2008. But when I got on her last week she was almost perfect.

#3. There is a chance that her allergies could act up in the spring. But we can give her a shot for that.

Those are some of her Cons.

This does not mean that I am not going to ride Copenhagen anymore. When I asked Preacher ( Pasor Monte) about showing Excel he was all for it and he siad that I can use Copenhagen for team penning and ranch rodeos. So I am really happy about all this. Well, that is all I have to say for now. I will post something new as soon as posable. PLEASE Leave a comment.

A New Year's Resolution.

Well, before I put the poem ( I think its a poem) on here I will tell you about my last tripe to Box T.  It was a lot of fun but it was very sad at the same time because it is.....hhhmmm.....how do tell you about it.  I think I will tell you about it some other time it would take me to long right know.  But just take my word for it that I had fun.

This piome was in our church bulletin this morning.  I thought it was very good.

A New Year's Resolution

I will, like Paul, forget those things which are behind and press forward.

I will, like David, lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence comes my help.

I will, like Abraham, trust implicitly in my God.

I will, like Enoch, walk in daily fellowship with my Heavenly Father.

I will, like Jehoshaphat, preparemy heart to seek God.

I will, like Daniel, commune with God at all times.

I will, like Job, be patient under all circumstances.

I will, like Joseph, turn my back to all seductive advances.

I will, like Gideon, advance even though my friends be few.

I will, like Aaron and Hur, hold up the hands of my spiritaul leaders.

I will, like Isaiah, consecrate myself to do God's work.

I will, like Andrew, strive to lead my brother into a closer walk with Christ.

I will, like John, lean upon the bosom of the of the Master and imbibe of His Spirit.

I will, like Stephen, manifest a forgiving spirit toward all who seek my hurt.

I will, like Timothy, study the Word of God.

I will, like the heavenly host, proclaim the message of peace on earth.

I will, like Caleb and Joshua, refuse to be discouraged because of superior numbers.

I will, like Moses, choose rather to suffer than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season.

And I will, like my Lord Himself, overcome all earthly allurement by refusing to succumb to its enticements.

Realizing that I cannot hope achieve these objectives by my own strength, I will rely upon Christ, for "I CAN do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

                                                                                                               George Burger

I would hope and pray that those are all resolutions for everyone on HSB.

Merry Christmas

I am so excited about Christmas!!!!!!!!!!  My parents went Christmas shopping on Saterday.  I don't even know what present is mine under the tree.  My Dad got this crazy idea to not put name tags on the gifts so that he could make us kids suffer till Christmas morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a really crazy weekend for me.  There is a man in our church who just had a stint put in ( a stint is something they put in your artery when your cholesterol gets to high).  I had to stay with him at his place Friday & Saturday because he can't lift anything over 10 pounds.  So basically I was a butler all weekend.  It was a lot of fun.  He has 49 acers so I got to go snow shoeing!!!!!!!!!  Was that ever fun.  When my Mom and Dad came to pick me up the snow was to deep for them to get our vane down his 800 foot drive way.......so I had to walk down it. That was probably one of the crazyest things I have ever done......well, maybe not.  But it was really funny walking down a long drive way trying to hang on to a suite case when the wind chill is is like -20 and the wind is blowing at like 20 or 25mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Sunday I had to help Pastor Mike (the man who lets me ride copenhagen) with his church's Christmas program.  I had to help with the animals.  It was fun.  My job was to lead the donkey down to the stable (because the little boy who played Joseph was to little to lead him). So my part wasn't very exciting.  They had an amazing Christmas play complete with a choir and a bell choir.

Well I think that is all I have for now.  I will post something new after Christmas.  Thanks for reading!!!!!!!!!  Please leave a comment.

HI!!!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Is it ever cold!!!!!!!!!!!!! The high for today is -3.  My poor Grandma!!!!!  She is from Arkansas, and she is defiantly not used to it.

My Grandma made it here with out incident.  She got here early like 45 minutes early.  We were still on our way to the airport when her plane landed.  So we are having a lot of fun with her here.

I haven't gone riding this week either.  I am really wanting to. However, my riding session is over till spring.  I think I am going to put some red Christmas tree bows on his mane and on his tail and I am going to by some bells (hopefully) to put around his neck. He will look very festive!!!!!!!!!

I found this yesterday on the internet.  So I thought I would put it on here.

The 23rd Channel

THE TV is my shepherd I shall not want,
It makes me lie down on the sofa,
It leads me away from the scriptures,
It damages my soul.

It leads me in the path of sex and
violence for the sponsor's sake,
Yea, though I walk in the shadow of
my Christian responsibilities, there will be
no interruption for the TV is with me,
It's cable and remote control,
they comfort me,
It prepares a commercial before me in
the presence of my worldliness.

It anoints my head with humanism,
my coveting runneth over,
Surely laziness and ignorance shall
follow me all the days of my life,
And, I shall dwell in my house
watching TV forever, Amen.

I thought that that was really funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And true.  Well I think thats all!!!!!!!  Thanks for reading.  Please leave a comment.

Copenhagen

Hi everyone!!!!!! Ok so the funniest thing happend today. I was reading a book entitled Cowboy Up (a book from the Rodeo Rides series) and the mian character named Troy was going to compete in a rodeo. WEll, he was going to do some bareback riding and the name of the horse he was going to ride was Copenhagen the name of the horse I ride. Like what are the chances of that happening!?!?!?!?!

It is really neat how every thing worked out with Copenhagen and I. I have loved horses since I can remember. It was sort of bred into me you might say. My Mom had horses when she was growing up and she did barrel racing and that kinda stuff a little bit. But we have never been able to own one. So my Mom told me to pray about, it ask the Lord to work something out. Well,.....he did. So in August a Pastor I know who LOVES the west and horses told me I could go over to his place and and see how I liked Copenhagen. He has three horses, Mariah, Excel and Copenhagen (all three are Quater Horses). His daughter is the only one who rides. So he told me that I could use Copenhagen for my  4-H stuff and MAYBE some ranch rodeos. So now I ride. AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other day my Dad and I went riding. My Dad is not a big horse person. But he went anyway (thanks Dad!!!!). Well, he was riding Mariah, and he was trying to get her to run and she wouldn't do it. So I told him that she would follow Copenhagen and to hang on.  She did and OFF WE TOOK AT FULL SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and was the ever funny!!!!! My poor Dad wasn't expecting her to take off like that, and he was bouncing around and he lost his hat. So I reined Copenhagen in and turned around to go see if he was ok and he was. But that was so FUN!!!!!!!

Well, I think that all I will try to put some thing new up as soon a possible. Thanks for reading!!!!!!

About Me

Hi everyone.  My name is....well....CowboyKing. You will have to excuse my spelling and punctuation. Those are my two worst and least favorite subjects.  I am going to run through a few thing about myself.

My favorite things to do: Riding horses, reading, woodworking, volunteering at the nursing home and talking on the phone.

About my horse: Well he's not really mine, but he is kinda it's a long story. Anyway, he is a 7 year old quarter horse gelding. His name is Copenhagen. (cool name don't you think?)

My favorite book: I don't know what that is. I like any Louis L'amour books or the Hardy Boys or the Rodeo Riders series. I just don't know. I like reading ALMOST any book. Oh and the Bible!!!!!!

My favorite color: Dark Purple. Why you may ask. Well.....I went to a rodeo when I was younger and there was a bull rider that was wearing purple chaps and for some reason (don't ask me why) I wanted him to win. So every since then I have liked the color purple!!!!!

My Birthday: 10/17/92

My Christian Birthday: 3/4/05

My favorite book of the Bible: Job

My favorite flavor of ice cream: Mint Chocolate Chip

Some of the things I can't stand: Smacking. That has to be one of the most annoying things in the world. I know everyone does it including me. Nylon Horse Tack. How can anyone use it? And Rap. Wow nasty!!!!!

Favorite sport: I like Bull Riding or any rodeo event.

What I want to do after high school: I want to go the University of Georgia or Colorado's vet school and specialize Equine Medicine or I want to own a ranch in Montana. So that is what I want to do. Oh and I want to go and compete in the NFR (National Finals Rodeo) although I have never even competed in a rodeo in my life.

Favorite type of music: Classical and Country.

Favorite Movie: Well I don't know.  I like Lonesome Dove. But I don't know if thats my favorite.

Well thats all I can think about. If you have any questions just ask. Please leave a comment. Thanks for reading!!!!!!!!
