Run for the roses!!!!!

Well, it is that time of year again.  Time for the Kentucky Derby!  Though it is still about 1 month away it is fast approaching!  I must first say that their is perhaps a better sport that we as christians could get into.  Their is just so much gamboling and beting that goes into that sport and if you are a born agian christian then you should take to heart the words of 1 Timothy 6:10  "For the love of Money is the root of all evil: which while some covoted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced  themselves through with maney sarrows.

Last years race was very exciting with Big Brown, eight bells and the others.  I think that there will be a great line up of horses this year because their doesn't seem to be any that are just dominating the sport.  Here are a few of the horses that should be makeing it to the Kentucky Derby.

Quality Road has done very well this year winning 3 out of 4 starts.  With his lattest win, The Florida Derby, under his belt (or should I say cinch?) he is considered in the top three favorites for the Kentucky Derby.  However, their is a quarter crack on one of his back hooves.  "It would be premiture to say that the horse wouldn't be able to make the derby." So says Quality Road's trainer Jimmy Jerkens.  If you want to read the story wirten by a professional go to www.nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30074830.

I Want Revinge,  wow what a horse!  After winning the Wood Mamorial after a very poor start the questian is could he do it at the Kentucky Derby?.  I Want Revinge was the last horse out of the gates and stayed behind the other seven horses competing in the race untill the eighth pole when he found a clear path and took it, winning the race.  That is the second straight stakes win for him!  He is defiantly a favorite for the Derby!  More info can be found at www.nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30047274.

Pioneer of the Nile is another horse to watch out for in the Derby.  After takeing the lead on the backstrech at Sante Aneta Park then loseing it people were beginning to wonder if he was even going to be able to win the race.  But in the strech he was able to take back the lead and win the race by one length!  So don't over look Pioneer of the Nile!  The fact that Bob Baffert ,a 3 time Kentucky Derby winner, is Pioneer of the Nile's trainer could give him a edge in the race.  If you want to know more about Pioneer of the Nile go to www.seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/othersports/2008987219_horse05.html.

There are a few other horses to keep an eye on.  Such as Freezen Fire, Chocolate Candy and Musket Man.  The ones the I told you about are the top three favorites for the race so far.  Like that means anything. After all it is a horse race!  But it is 10:10pm on the night of the April 11th and I have to sing for church tomorrow!  I will post another entry about "The most exciting 2 minutes in sports" as it draws closer.  Thank you for reading!  Please leave a comment even if you don't like horse raceing!

P.S.  I am posting this now without proof reading it because I am to tired to care.  I will do it after church tomorrow.  Please forgive any mistakes.

Ah, horse racing. I love movies about it, but I've never really been able to get into it. Very interesting stuff though!

I could get some books from the library on English riding and such, but the lady I already ride with knows a lot of it and can teach me herself. The problem is she does not know hunter/jumper and the horse she lets me ride is to old to do jumping anyway. I think I may have found a barn though, we shall see.
