I have decided that since I'm having so much trouble with loading pictures on this site, that I'll just use this one to discuss homeschool issues, and if you want to view my pictures, you can head over to my other blog site at cre8ivemom.blogspot.com/
I was just going to stay over at blogspot, but I have missed my HSB friends immensely, so I really wanted to keep my blog here, too! Hopefully, this will be the best of both worlds!
It seems to be that time of year again. Everyone is gearing up for conventions, trying to decide what purchases to make, what changes to make. I'm jumping on that bandwagon. Although I do know what I am doing for most subjects, I do want to get some opinions on a couple of things. Do any of you have experience with Teaching Textbooks? Their website is: www.teachingtextbooks.com/Default.asp
Sorry it took so long to get back to you....I understand the 'issues' with HSB. I also have a regular Blogger acct I use to upload slideshows etc, more for the family. I thought I must be insane to keep 2 blogs going, but it's worked so far! I don't update the other one quite as often.
We like Teaching Textbooks a lot. My oldest did fine with Saxon through Advanced Math, my second hit a glitch at Alg 2 and we got TT. It's turned it around for him and is SOOO user friendly. A little pricier, but worth the money.
I actually held Notgrass history in my hands last year and seriously considered it. It's very good. I may use it for american history this year. I like how it has Bible and lit tied in.
Happy curriculum shopping!!!
We've been using the Notgrass Company's GA History curriculum this year...and we love it. I have used it for an advanced 4th grader. He did need some adaptations/explainations etc along the way...as the reading level was high school level. He had no trouble with the activities. Our favorite piece of the whole set...the field trip guide! And the folks at Notgrass Co. are super nice to work with
I use blogspot as well but keep it private, I blog at blogspot then when they email me the copy of what I have blogged I copy and paste it all including photo's to HSB and make it into another entry, I love HSB because it is all homeschooling but have a terrible time actually blogging here so found this the easy way. Bit of a double up though, just an idea. Love your blog.
