Satirical Silly - T-Shirt!

  Awe...Spring!!
The  fresh, clean air, the flowers, the birds....the thongs???

I have a great invention idea  I think many would find useful in today's Hang-It-All-Out Culture. Remember those "Special X-Ray vision" glasses they use to advertise in the backs of comic books? Well, my glasses would be like that....ONLY OPPOSITE! Instead of being able to see through clothing, my special glasses would PUT CLOTHING ON, where it should be in the first place, hiding flesh and fat , that was never meant to be exposed publicly in the first place.

I am so baffled by this latest body-baring phenomenon that seems to be epidemic in our culture.

No place is safe these days, not the library, grocery store.... everywhere, we are visually forced fed bare bellies and backsides! This epidemic seems to be widespread regardless of weight, stretch marks and even weather conditions (I have seen this in the coldest of conditions!). When I was a teenager, we did what we could to hide those "unflattering areas". Maybe I'm just an old fogy but I just don't get this latest trend!?!?!

So, here is my Satirical Silly  response to this fashion trend. If I were brave (which I have repeatedly said that I am not!), I would sport this t-shirt whenever I go out in public. Oh, and I would also make  my pre-adolescent son wear it as well.

Saw it today at the pharmacy. Mom with child. Thong exposed. Slight love handles. Tiniest sweatshirt cardigan hoodie -- wondered if it was her child's.

Be brave. Make it. ;-) I don't wear tee shirts, but might make an exception...

A few years ago I saw the thong w/message on it + ultra lowrise jeans for the first time. I wanted to go, "Honey, your underwear is showing" but then I realized she did it on purpose. I just think it is completely gross! And it was one of the first times I really felt old. *sigh* Oh well! At least *I* still have my wits about be enough to know how to hide my underwear!

And regarding your comment about masking tape, I think it would be a lovely idea for your boys today! :-) Just be sure to send me a pic of the final results! adfjklasglagdsj;agds;jlkgad

Oh and my kids would try it if I let them loose with it... If they fight too much today, then maybe I will...

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your encouraging comments! I love to see stuff on my blog from new bloggers, (well, new to me). I wonder sometimes "is ANYBODY OUT THERE?!".
I love making stuff in Photoshop, too! I'm not good at posting as often as I'd like, but please check back from time to time. Mind if I put your link on my site? I'm trying to build a list of ones to read regularly. Regarding the subject of your post...I heard a comedian years ago (I'm sure the problem wasnt near as bad back then) say it makes you want to go up to them and say "Will you pull up your d••• pants??!! Where's your MOTHER?" The bad thing is nowadays, when you see a teenager dressed (if you call it dressed) like that, chances are she's just following Mama's example.

I just wanted to let you know that I have a new site. I could never log on to the old one, so I just started a new one. Hope all is well with you and that you stop by and see me!

sounds like they had a fun trip! I wonder if my Dh will do stuff like that......

I like your glasses idea! I did wear a two peice on the beach, which I don't think I have ever done in public before.... and would never do if there were people there that knew me.LOL.

I can understand someone wanting to show off their body a bit on the beach if they look good...(even though I don't agree with the amount of skin those peope show!), but to be fat and wear that stuff to show the world... that is mind boggling...

RYC: I found the other day the FRIENDS thing, where you can see your friends list and what new thing they've said. The problem, is that it doesn't say who it is. I accidently made a comment to a girl the other day, thinking she was someone else. Had to apologize! it was funny (kind of). But I do like that feature. Keeps me updated.

thanks for stopping by!

The current trends confuse me too! I just don't get it. What seems gorgeous to the world is disgusting to us these days. I'm glad that this particular issue bothers us. That means that we can still see these issues as black and white and we haven't been de-sensitized to the moral indecency.
I'm so glad that you visited my blog as I just had to visit yours in return. What a blessing! My son loves Photo 'Chop' (as I call it) too and has lots of ideas for me if only I'd let him have at it. I just might! I can't wait to stop back in and read more of your wonderful ideas. I'm adding you to my Friend List!
See ya around!

Mar. 28, 2006 - T-Shirt

Posted by rubies
Loved that shirt. Our whole family would be wearing it. We have one woman in our town that goes topless as a stance against the fact that men are allowed to go topless in public so why can't women. She is the town joke. My husband and I require our sons (aged 19, 18, 16, and 14) to wear T-shirts at the pool or the beach. So she could never use our family as an excuse to bare. Also our girls and myself wear modest one piece bathing suits. Most people do not have a body that is not going to offend someone. So why don't we all just cover up?

Preach it sister!!!!

What floors me even more is that they make clothing like that for little girls. What is up with that????

Yes, seeing little girls sporting this style is very disturbing. I recently saw a girl who must have been in Jr. High (very developed) showing a lot of cleavege in a tiny tank top. There were like 3 boys all "buzzing" around chasing her. When I saw the back side, I couldn't believe that her crack was showing..a lot!! I kept help but think, surely this is taking it way too far, isn't there decency laws against showing your private parts in public? Especially for a girl this young. I wonder how much of this fashion trend continues to downspriral (meaning: get more exposing!) because no one is standing up saying, STOP!!!!

My partner Dena just told me that there is a website that you can order t-shirts on demand...maybe I should REALLY make a t-shirt. LOL

then I am too. Whether I am fat or skinny I think I dress quite modest. Comfy jeans or pants, not skin tight or painted on, and my T-shirts usually cover my toush. I'll take one of those shirts in an XL please.

It's hard for the young men doing collection or communion because some of the teens and moms are letting too much hang out.

As for the t-shirt-- I love it! And I'll take 2 please.

Many women don't understand how difficult it is for us guys when there are women who are half (or less) dressed walking around. I appreciate so much women who choose to help their brothers avoid temptation by being modest, and helping to teach others. (not to mention the fad of teenagers having something written across their backside) Thanks for the laugh.

My DH and DD would wear one too. I thank God my DD thinks that these girls are gross and need pants and shirts that fit them! She usually says it loudly when we are out places. Very embarassing to me. But the adults around all agree. I guess we will leave it up to her to let them know!

A very innovative idea! I'll take 4 glasses and 4 t-shirts! Oh, and can you ensure the glasses work to put clothes BACK on females on TV as well??? My son commented the other day that even the girls in CARTOONS dress in the minimum amount of clothing! :)

That is awesome! I think you have a real knack for the saterical...could be a new home business! I'm with you...it seems to be the in thing to show off, no matter how big you are. Funny, I go to great lengths to hide my problem areas. I certainly don't want to flaunt them! Yikes!

HA HA HA HA! I love the post and the t-shirt. I would wear the t-shirt, too, if I wasn't such a chicken. Sigh.... I am sure my hubby would wear it!! I will have to ask him when he gets home from work!

By the way, I love the cleaning crew picture! Way to go, getting the kiddos involved!

The lower back tatoo is now called a "tramp stamp." What girl or woman would choose to have something called that on her body. And who's going to be looking
at it - Oh, pardon me, we all are because we can see it even with her pants on.

I am ashamed to say that my dh and I rented (PPV) Wedding Crashers. Someone told us it was funny, it was, but they failed to mention the nudity. Anyway in that movie, the guys go to a bar and one of them zeros in on the lower back tatoo of a girl at the bar. He says, "It might as well be a bullseye!" Girls, get the picture?

Another thing that is gross to me is the young "girls" that expose their stretch marks on the flabby stomachs (because they've had a baby) just so they can wear these new bare-all clothes.

My son is 21 and doesn't have a girlfriend. He would like to have one, but he doesn't want someone that has tatoos, piercings, shows off her body, treats men like they are inferior and so on. I told him he might have to rob a cradle!!!!

I agree! But the problem is that the stores don't have modest clothing. On top of that if you watched the lates Disney show the girls aren't approiate. The image advertised is degrading. If it wasn't for shows like that the clothing would improve. You would think that they have standards. Walt Disney would be turning in his grave.

My 21 year old son came home one day last summer very exasperated. He told of a woman at the post office that was wearing, "I promise you, mom, nothing but a bra on top! Isn't there a law against that or something??"

I am so glad for the "boho" (?) type clothing in style for this summer--at least the skirts are long and full and feminine. Here's hoping most girls will realize that those see-through tops to go with them are meant to be *layered* over something else!
