I just couldn't help myself...I admit it, I have little self-control when it comes to home decorating Make-Overs! I told myself "I would NOT go over to the new house and paint UNTIL AFTER we got back from our trip!". Well, I swung by there (it's only 4 blocks from where we live now) JUST to put a little paint on the walls, you know to see which color I was going to use, AFTER I got back from my trip. That little bit of paint smeared on those ugly walls was all it took and the next thing I knew I was at the store in line with gallons of Paint. I didn't even bother to go back home first. I called DH and informed him to bring over the kids, because I was not coming home until the living room was painted. And so it went until 1:30 in the morning! The kids and I were all covered in Satin Muted Gold and Crushed Buckwheat from head to toe. I ache all over and have little time to pack now for my trip tomorrow...BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! Isn't it amazing what lots of sweat and $60.00 of paint can do!
The color looks a little darker here than it actually is. We still need to put wood trim around the door.
Today, even Dh decided to join the bandwagon and get a start on the dining room ceiling. I plan on buying the wallpaper for that room, while on our trip.
I have major house envy!
Love the color choices... and the built-ins, and the painted woodwork...
I love old houses, I wish I had one...
but I will be content here!
It is going to be just lovely when you are done, I can tell already. It's amazing what just painting the walls does to a room. Thank you for sharing the pictures. I love to watch homes be remodeled, and fixed up. I wish I was creative, and could do it. It's so much fun to watch though....I'm looking forward to more pictures as you progress. Have a great time on your trip. I love going away just hubby and me. I miss the kids, but it's so important to have that time with him to regroup. Have a safe trip, and have fun getting to work when you get back....I'll be back to see how things are going.
I can't believe I've be out of it for so long -- everybody has been busy busy busy doing lots! You most of all! It is taking me days to catch up on everybody's lives. I haven't really been anywhere but just staying away from the computer due to an
AC "issue". Colors look sharp -- all your work is paying off. Don't you love it when a plan comes together... :>) It will be fun to see your work in progress - especially knowing you are doing the work and I'm not! LOL
be blessed
Miss Meg
