It Takes a Village!
Two years ago my husband and I decided to move back west to be closer to family and my business (Trigger Memory Systems). In previous years, his job has brought us living all over the country which resulted in years of living in towns where I didn't have many (if any!) friends and no support system. By "support system" I mean help with my little ones when I was sick or just needing a break. However, since moving back near my sister and parents that has all changed! My sister and I joke that we might as well be living together since I see her almost everyday. One of the things we have worked out (which I LOVE) is, each week alternating taking each others kids. Every Friday night our gang of 8 kids (above) either goes to her house or mine, not to be returned until 5:00 p.m. until the next day. This gives each of us two Saturdays a month of being alone in total peace and quiet, something that all of us need from time to time. I would encourage any of you who are feeling "alone deficient" to get together with a trusted friend or relative and arrange this co-op system.
