I was so thrilled to find this wonderful CM
blog full of handicraft ideas and kits that I had to order a couple for the twins and I was not disappointed.
Alissa and Thomas each made their own fleece hats with the materials provided in the
"winter themed kit" and had a blast. They did sewing and cutting themselves and it only took an afternoon to make them. We are also working on the weather lapbook that was included and considering it's our first lapbook experience it is going very well.
Here are the kids modeling their new winter hats. Emily & Wesley simply had to be in the picture too:)

Playdough
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups water (add food coloring if desired)
- 1 cup salt
- 4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 Tbslp. oil
Place ingredients in a pot and cook on stove low to medium heat. STir frequently until it forms one lump with no stickiness. Remove from heat, let cool a bit and then knead well.
Variations: add glitter, edible flavoured extracts, jello powder prior to cooking.
Gluten-Free Playdough
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp. cooking oil
- food coloring
Combine all ingredients, except food coloring in a medium saucepan. Over low heat cook for 3 minutes stirring constantly or until mixture forms a ball. Allow the mixture to cool and add in desired food coloring.
