Sorry that I haven't been posting these, but better late than never!

The Foundation of Marriage:

Genesis 2:20b-24

But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said:
      “This is now bone of my bones
      And flesh of my flesh;
      She shall be called Woman,
      Because she was taken out of Man.”

 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

• Our culture is missing God's plan for marriage.
• We who have Christ are the spiritual men.
• Wake up and realize God's plan for marriage.

        1) Marriage is the work of God.

        a) It's His design,.

        b) God knew man couldn't be alone.

        2) God gave away the first bride.

        3) God spoke the design for marriage.

• God still works in marriage, and He still has a plan for it.

        Deuteronomy 11:22-23

22 “For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him— 23 then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves.

• The foundation of marriage is a work of God: a stubborn commitment.
• You gotta be stuck (in your marriage) before you can see God's work.
• God performed the first marriage.

       Mark 10:1-10

1 Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again.
2 The Pharisees came and asked Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” testing Him.
3 And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?”
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her.”
5 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’7 ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
10 In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. 11 So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

• God joins the marriage, it is not the pastor's work, but God's.
• Marriage is the work of God, it is for the glory of God.

       Ephesians 5:31

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

         Genesis 2:24

 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

• Marriage is not about you, but about displaying God's glory.
• Marriage exists for God's glory.
• He didn't come for the well, but for the sick.
