Feb. 19, 2008 - Science We See
Posted in Skool

Living in the country means that we spend a lot of time outdoors.

And being outdoors in the country means that we see a lot of cool stuff that we never did get to see in the city.

Let me show you...

We see deer tracks:

And raccoon tracks:

And deer and rabbit "droppings":

And, of course:

We find:

That ever elusive:

Pond scum:

immensely and then I saw the pond scum and felt a very tangible all over body shiver in repulsion. It was a reflex that I had no control over. And then I looked again and I was fine :-) I have to live in the country vicariously through you, it is not by choice I live in the middle of a busy city :-)

We've learned not to confuse "scatology" with "eschatology" (sp?) in this house. LOL

Love it :) It's just like an afternoon around here, right down to the wonderful pond scum. LOL. Great shot of the racoon tracks!
Have a wonderful day,

It's fun to play with! The best part is when you get a
lot of it and mess with it for a few minutes.

It makes mom say yuch, and turn her head.

And Dad looks at it and laughs.

So is this pond scum as in stuff I can scrap off the bottom of the pond? or is it something living like a leech? I could possibly play with pond scum - but I have had enough of leeches.

By the way.... wonderful pictures!

Mmmmm, pond scum. I think I'd prefer the M&M pancakes. :)

No, actually, I envy you a bit. Your pics make me sigh at our 1/3 almost treeless acre. Of course then I think of my boys bringing a handfull of scat into the kitchen to find out what kind of berries they are, and the feeling goes away. . . a little.

I was skimming through some of your older entries again and I had an epiphany. I thought I should tell you:

You know, you have a really weird blog. Fun, interesting, unique, but also definitely weird. Just so you know. (Of course, in my opinion that's the best way to be!)

*laughs*

Love ya!
