It seems like I am able to blog less and less lately....hmmm...wonder why.
Today we went to a "new" church. We liked it but it is much different than our regular one. We were trying to "analyze" what we felt. I don't know if I can capture it in words but here goes.
I feel as though the last 10 years has jaded me (not necessarily a good thing) and now I am "stiffer" than I was before. For instance in our usual church (We'll call this church A) there is very little as far as hand raising, clapping, etc. In the "new" church (Church B) they are much more charasmatic. I like charasmatic...BUT I am no longer used to it...does it make sense???
The message was great and very practical. The pastors were down to earth and reachable. So what is wrong???? I feel like I have been in a box for 10 years and I am afraid to come out of it. *sigh*
The only other thing was that it is a HUGE church. There is no Sunday school so I am not really sure how you get to know people. I know there are small groups for people but outside of that what do you do?? I don't know if they have a way for Meela's age to get to know one another...something to look into.
One other "concern" (lots of quotations in this post..huh?)...it is so big there are screens...reminds me of tv. Petty but true.
Positive things....
definite presence of God. Very careful/organized children's church, great message, LARGE homeschool community (100 families I think) and positive atmosphere for big families...not so at Church A. Babies stay with parents (BIG praise).
So, what to do?? Not sure. Going to pray about it and talk to our friends that go there. Before checking out Church B we asked around and got some positive and negative feedback....I don't want any of that to be what we base our decision on....I want to be led where I am supposed to be. We've only been there one time but I really didn't see the negative aspects yet. (From what I was told it should have been obvious.) So, I *think* we are going to give it another shot next week......
