Jul. 17, 2007 - New curriculum decisions... |
Well, I made a couple of new decisions.
For Bear, I signed her up for a Biology class outside of home. I am not strong in Math or Science so I felt it was a good move. I am using Teaching Textbooks for Math and Movies as Literature for Lit. For History I am using Beautiful Feet for Senior High and I did pick up a book to brush up on grammar. For Bible we are studying John.
Meela--Rainbow Science, Saxon 87, Kits from Hands and Hearts for History, Lightning Lit for English, and also studying John.
M--Horizons for Math, Winter Promise for History/Reading, Apologia Astronomy, Copywork for Spelling (by Queen homeschool) and Landmark Freedom Baptist for English grammar and studying the book of John.
Boo--light work on alphabet sounds, etc. He REALLY wants to "do" school.
Tink--not much but she also wants to "do" school so she has some sticker books.
Natalie--lots of cuddling, hanging out, and being a baby....
I think that sums it up. I still need to buy the Teaching Textbooks and one of the kits from Hearts and Hands but other than that.....I am done!!
Went to Walmart yesterday (they have their back to school stuff already!!) and I picked up notebook paper (30 cents for 150 sheets), 1 Inch binders (97 cents each!!!) and some pencils, etc. We have a lot of notebooks and crayons/markers/colored pencils so I didn't need to get them.
I hope this year is a good one. I think I am finally getting comfortable with some other types of curriculum. (The kits and the WP)...these aren't traditional texts which I am not used to but I am really excited about!!

| I love reading what books people are using. I am down to homeschooling just one child now after having homeschooled for 16 yrs & he was the one, like your baby, that we just used to cuddle while we did school. Sweet times! |
