The Journey

Aug. 9, 2007 - Started WP!!!

Hi!!
Well, we started WP this week with M.  He likes it!! (Quite a statement...)    We are having a little trouble adjusting b/c we are not used to this type of curriculum.  I am also enjoying this!!

That is all we have done so far. I am not going full time with school until after next week. I am easing into it.

It is difficult to try to occupy the 3 and 4 y/o and take care of Natalie. But I know we will get through.

I would LOVE to be able to order My Father's World for Tink and Boo or WP Ready to Learn but we just don't have the money right now.

On to other things....the van is *almost* fixed. We should have it sometime this weekend or early next week. I hope all is well with it b/c we can't get a new van right now.  BTW, foxvalleyfamily...thanks for the post about the carseats.  I have a new baby seat now and I had an extra seat for Tink that wasn't being used.

Sunday the girls are going to camp!! I am happy for them but it will be very strange not having them here. I am so used to having all of them home but I think they will have a lot of fun. It is a Christian camp through Church A .  Speaking of Church...I haven't been to A or B because we don't have a vehicle to get us there....sigh.  Anyway, camp is a week long. Dh is off for Monday to Wednesday. We may take a couple of field trips.

Interesting neighborhood news....there was a very large raid on our street last week. The police had been watching a house in our neighborhood for several months. They were even collecting their trash!  Anyway, Friday night 12 marked police cars and a couple undercover police came with shields and guns and raided the house. They arrested 7 people---3 kids jumped out of a second story window and got away. The mother of two kids that lived there was arrested for making drugs and for prostitution.  Very scary when it is so close to home. One of the very disturbing things was that she did this WITH her kids...I just don't get it...I mean I don't get it anyway but to include the kids....what in the world are they thinking???  Also, one boy is only 16. He was back in the neighborhood today. I am not sure how or why but it worries me.  The other interesting thing is that the mother told everyone she was homeschooling!!!

So, I have a couple of prayer requests from my cyber buddies...
1. For the car to be ok once we get it back...I just want to be safe.

2. Safety and protection in my neighborhood.

3.
We are having a bit of a rough time with Boo....he is getting disrespectful and purposely getting in trouble.  I know he wants attention and I try but it is so hard right now.

4.This one is really important: A little girl from church A is having heart problems and is getting operated on August 15. They are afraid she isn't even going to make it to then.

Praises:
1. We have no lasting problems from the car accident.

2. God protects us every day. Thank you, Lord!!

3. I have been blessed with a wonderful family.
