Dec. 23, 2007 - Wow!! Another month between blogging |
Wow! I must be really busy LOL. I haven't blogged for quite some time. Well, a lot has happened.
We have decided to stick with Church A. We have not had real peace anywhere else and then we got that really nice note from someone at Church A and then blessings just started flowing.
We prayed for a church we would feel happy with and asked for a positive sign that we should be at the church. Well, we have had people coming up to us saying 'You know, it is REALLY good to see you here.' (I know that sounds lame but it actually quite important if you knew some of the issues.) We have felt a peace about it and have put our minds to just get out here and be there for God not others. I think a lot of my problem was my focus. I was there looking at others and not focusing on the Lord. Big mistake. Anyway, does this mean all is well and the issues are gone??? No, absolutely not but I am there for God as I said before and I need to keep my eyes on Him. Do I still feel hurt about some things? Yes, but again that is all about the humans around me, not my Savior.
Ok, on to some other things. Story 1-- About a week and a half ago we noticed our basement leaking whenever the upstairs bathroom was used. We couldn't tell where the leak was coming from and thought maybe a pipe was leaking. Well, it ended up being the stack. (The waste pipe... GROSS!!!). So, we talked to a friend who is a plumber and he said all told it is around 1200 dollars. Well, here come the prayers!! Today we sat in Sunday school and asked for prayer about this. One of the guys said "Why didn't you call me?" Dh said "Why would we call you?" He said "Well, I am a plumber!!" He came over today (TWO DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS) and fixed our stack for $50. Total. Not due until we have it.....I am so speechless I can't even believe it. I put it totally on the Lord and He came through. I just can't get over it.
Story 2--Our washer is broken. Dh has tried to fix it four times. The first three times it worked for a couple of days and now it just smells like it is burning so it has pretty much died. Well, here comes the Lord again. We had a couple come up to us after Sunday School and give us a key to their house (helllooooo??? Yes, a key!!) and said "We are going skiing. Please feel free to use our washer."
Story 3---This story happened before the previous two. We had an unspoken need and I tried to solve it on my own which basically messed up our situation more. If I had waited for God I would have alleviated some significant financial strain...He came through. Unfortunately, I had already tried to "fix" the problem. But He STILL came through.
And, last but not least....
Story 4--We had some concerns about Tink going into her Sunday School class without Boo. So, we just brought her over to Boo's class and spoke to the teacher. She was more than happy to welcome Tink in as well. This is also a significant answer to prayer. This had been a big issue previously.
So, I know I didn't give all of the details in those stories but you can still see God's hand at work. He is unbelievable and totally awesome.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!
Prayers and Praises:
1. Our car is acting up at times. It will just turn off when we take our foot off the gas. This can be quite scary!!
2.We need a new washer...enough said.
Praises:
See my above post!!!!! The whole thing is a praise.

Jan. 4, 2008 - How Awesome is our God |
| Posted by Linda |
| I LOVE hearing how the Lord works when we step back and let him. I, too, have seen His glory in the past month. We had no money for Christmas and I really was okay with that b/c it's not about money or presents but He came through in His timing. It seems, when we stop our efforts, He takes over. I share in your joy! |
