Salvador of the Sahara

this is a story i'm working on and i made it completely up on my own. i am quite proud of myself.  i'm going to divide it into parts so it won't be one long entry. here's the first part. enjoy!

Salvador of the Sahara

By Crystal Floyd

Far out in the Sahara Desert, a mirage of seven camels walked in a straight line among the dunes. they wiggled in the waves of heat that rose up from the sand as the fiery sun shown down. And on top of those seven camels were seven riders. they were fully grown men and of good health. they were wrapped in cloaks, and scarves were wrapped around their heads to keep out the windblown sand. they sat slumping in the saddle seats as the camels lumbered on. their soft, padded feet hardly sank into the shifting sands when they stepped.

But at the back of the line was a much smaller camel, about half the size of the others. And he really stood out from the brown ones because he was white. he seemed anxious as he kept a hurried pace to stay in line. While the front six took long, slow strides, he took quick short ones. his tail swished back and forth to keep away the pesky flies. His small black eyes watched as far as they could see for a sign of an oasis or town. he made a small grunt under a long sigh and looked back at his 17-year-old rider. he tried to blink away the worry he had in his face. the young man looked back at the camel with shiny green eyes. the camel could easily see he was worried as well. the kid said in a hushed voice, "Don't worry Chewy, these guys are pros. they know what they are doing." he looked up at the other riders. he wasn't confident about what he had said though.he pulled the long scarf around his face even tighter and shifted his eyes out to the never-ending mountains of sand. he has never been so far out in the desert before.

I'll get to part two in a day or another. talk to you then! ROCK ON JESUS!!

phunny phone call

i went to my grandma's house two days before Thanksgiving to help her prepare the Thanksgiving dinner. and it was Wednesday night, around 8 or 9:00 when the funniest thing happened.

My little sister Ashley had called to say goodnight and to ask Grandma a question. But the line was very fuzzy and Grandma couldn't make out what she was saying. so she handed me the phone and said, "Do you know what she wants?" so i pressed the phone to my ear and listened as Ashley repeated herself for the fifth time. "Do you...ave...ego..ankton?" i thought for a moment and cast a confused glance at Grandma. i recalled all the things i did between the time i stepped out the door to the time i arrived at G-ma's house and then it hit me. i said happily into the phone, "do you mean the Lego Plankton?" Ashley, clearly relieved, said "yes! that's what i meaned!" (for his birthday, my oldest little brother Roy, got a Spongebob Squarepants Krusty Krab Lego set which included Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Spongebob, and Plankton playing pieces) I said, "Well when i stepped outside i found Plankton on the sidewalk! so i picked him up and brought him to Grandma's house!" as Ashley yelled to Roy the news, i filled Grandma in on what was going on. then i heard a very angry, "why did she take it?" in the background. then Ashley repeated it to me and i told her, "Well hey! i found him outside so i took him! i'll bring him back okay?" Ashley told Roy as Grandma and i laughed.

Then i asked if i could say goodnight to Dad. so Ashley handed the phone to Dad and we said our goodnights. but then Ashely put the phone down and instead of 'End' she pressed 'Redial'. that's when the fun really started.

Grandma hung up and as soon as she put the phone down it rang again! so she picked it up expecting to hear Ashley. oh she could hear Ashley alright, and everyone else! Grandma sat there saying "hello?" into the phone for a while when she handed it to me. she laughs, "I can hear everything that's going on!" i listened and heard my Dad saying, "Get in bed! lay down and be quiet!" And Ashley say, "okay! okay! just a minute!" i was having a hard time determining just WHO had the phone. i figured it was on the last post at the top of the stairs, its where we usually set it. then Grandma called Mom on her cell and said, "Hey! your phone is still on and Crissy (me) and i are listening to everything!" then i heard Mom yell to Caylin, "Hey Caylin? turn the phone off, apparently it's still on!" we laughed so hard.

Eventually, the phone got turned off and we figured out just what happened. but Grandma and I stayed up a few minutes later laughing about what would've happened if we had not said anything and left the phone on. we could have heard my Mom and Dad's conversation, figured out which movie they were watching, how many times they paused it, which little kid came down the stairs, why they came down the stairs, what my parents said to send them back to bed and what my Mom was eating for her midnight snack.

IT WAS THE BEST PRE-THANKSGIVING EVER!!!

see you all later!  and ROCK ON JESUS!!

Lackadaisy Cats

yep. that's right. Lackadaisy Cats. it's a neat website i found while surfing youtube.com. i was watching this video called 'Lackadaisy Fire'. and it was pretty cool! and the person who posted it also wrote down the website link. www.lackadaisycats.com   i like it. she writes, in her spare time, comics about these cats in the 1920's and 30's. they aren't in color, but some of them are really funny. her main character i would have to say is Rocky Rickaby. he's a gray and cream colored cat who speaks his mind at the worst time. his younger cousin, and my favorite of all the cats, is Calvin McMurray, aka Freckle. he is a really cute orange cat but when you give him a gun, hehe, he kinda flips out. Rocky calls him 'Freckle' because when they were little, Rocky shaved all of the fur off of Calvin's face and BOOM! there was one freckle on his cheek. then there's Ms. Mitzi May, the owner of an underground bar that her husband, Atlas May, left her when he died. it's rumored that she had something to do with his death, but i'm not sure. and there's also Mordecai Heller, Nicodeme Savoy (also known as Nico), and a few other cats. it's a really neat comic and, in my opinion, you should look it up! that's all for now! ROCK ON JESUS!

Another Addition!

yes that's right! we had Dennis for maybe a day and then my Mom got me a 6-week-old Degu!  Thank you so much Mom!  i named him Shakespeare after my favorite meerkat on Meerkat Manor, courageous little Shakespeare. and he is very small compared to Dennis, about a third of his size. but bless his heart he thinks he's larger than life! he thinks he can easily take on Dennis and win! and he talks. alot. Dennis hardly mumbles but Shakespeare is a chatter box. and his squeaks are so high! and he reconizes me too! whenever i put my hand on the bars of the cage, he comes over and starts squeaking. then he tries to dig his way out and onto my hand. plus, he's really hyper. he leaps all over the cage and can bolt into his little plastic house in the blink of an eye. and he's in Dennis's old cage because we got Dennis a bigger, better one with three stories. Caylin gave me the ladders it came with, the two cheesy wheels, the house and food tray. she also was nice enough to give me some of the food she was giving to Dennis. love ya sis. i put one ladder vertically on the bars and it leads up to the second story. Shakespeare can easily jump up there by himself but the ladder is convenient. the second ladder i put next to the wheel horizontally with one end on the balcony (second story). the black wheel doesn't move so he can't run on it but he can easily climb on top of it. and he is very confident, sometimes too confident. he has this habit of trying to find as many places as he can to hang upside down from. i don't know why but he does. i have a hard time holding him because he climbs everywhere. i'm really glad Mom got him for me. Hams is jealous.  so that's the latest. ROCK ON JESUS!

New Addition!

yup that's right! the Floyd's have another pet in the zoo! he's called a Degu (day-goo) and his name is Dennis. sometimes we call him Dennis the Menace.

and he is very different. he has multiple colors in his coat, mostly brown, gold and tan. his tail is very fragile. it has mainly no fur on it but the end has black fuzz. it looks some-what like a lion's tail. he also has pretty sharp little claws. i mean you can really feel them when he crawls on you and boy does it tickle!   his whiskers are always moving and he is really skidish. i scare him. alot. accidentally. and he squeaks pretty loud! louder than most birds! i was the only one to hear his shriek but it took me off guard! i thought i hurt him! he shrieked four times before i got out of there! whew!  but he really is a bundle of joy.

Well that's it! ROCK ON JESUS!

Creeeeepy...

The Misunderstood

                                                                             By Crystal Floyd

In the shadows lies what people fear most and don’t want to encounter. What people disagree with, are disgusted by, and turn away from. What people leave to die. The mistakes people have made and want to forget. The things that people have abused and left. The things that are said to have no heart. The things that have no being of a soul left. The things that cry out to be remembered and brought back from this prison of unknown. The things that are still kept a breath of life by their haunting remains in the corners of people’s minds. The things that feed off of our fear. The things that are neither living nor dead. The things that rule the underworld. The things that go bump in the night. The things that cause nightmares. The things that make good ghost stories. The things that are said to be blood thirsty. The things that come back from the after life. The things that are watching from every corner of the room. The things that don’t blink. The things that are misunderstood. You know, those kinds of things.

creepy huh? its the beginning of a very scary story i'm writing. one i completely thought of on my own! its about a haunted house and scary stuff. by the way, that's what i wanted to talk to you about. HEY DON'T LOOK AWAY FROM THE SCREEN! i'm serious!

Horror stories are actualy not that scary by themselves. what make them scary are these obvious things...

1. the graphics

2.the suspense music

And 3. HOW STUPID THE PEOPLE ARE!

i mean seriously. the people are so idiotic! i bet the actors are like, "i can't believe i did that." first of all, when you hear a noise down the hall at night, you don't go to check it out! or this happens!

and when you're with a group of people and you hear something or see something at the corner of your eye, you don't say, "stay here, i'll go check it out." you stay together! cause if you don't, this happens!

And when something is wrong with your town, or strange things have been happening, like poeple have 'mysteriously' disappeared or someone dies a day, get out of there and take your belongings with you! or this happens!

yes my friends, it is a scary world out there. and the more true it is, the worse it seems. fact is always scarier than fiction. well i got to go, laudrey waiting, ROCK ON JESUS!

wow...

it's amazing how many people visited my page!   and yes i do watch Avatar the Last Airbender. i've also gotten into other anime. Like Chobits and Yu-gi-oh. (if that's anime) and recently, my wonderful sister *points at Caylin* gave me her old mouse cage. she got a hamster cage for three bucks from Kim, a preschool teacher and i gave her the one my hamster was in. and with a couple tunnels and blistered fingers, i managed to connect the two cages, after washing the mouse cage of course!  but my hamster is so fat she can hardly fit through them!  and she was really mad when i had to remove her HUGE wad of cotton to get to the seeds she stored underneath. here's my hamster...

no seriously, she looks just like that.

ask me sister if you don't believe me! she has this habit of getting all of the good stuff from her food bowl and cramming it into her cheeks, mostly sunflower seeds and corn kernels. then she squeezes through a tunnel that goes up to her loft bedroom and stashes it all under the cotton that's now pelted with shavings. THEN SHE SLEEPS ON IT! i guess its animal instincts or something. its buisness as usual to me but it cracks my sister up. and Hams is pretty smart! well sort of  when she hears a sound, like when one of the little kids all the way down the hall laughs, she stops eating the bars of her cage and sits up. just like a prairie dog or meerkat. (love meerkats) she looks around and then goes back to chewing. she's on to you. -insert evil laughter- my mom and i agree, its the dumb ones that are cute.

i love smilies

well that's all for now. ROCK ON JESUS!

*note: my hamster's name is Joey, but i call her Ham-hams*

I'm Back!

sorry I've been gone for so long. I've been watching videos, writing stories and playing on Neopets. (neopets account: Azure_serenity) speaking of stories, I have this problem where I easily start them, but I never get around to finishing them.  I have a total, so far, of 118. some of my friends at Pacific thought I was a little crazy for having so many. (used to go to Pacific Middle School) And I've tried to put two ideas together to have less stories, but that only made new ones.  I've got all sorts of ideas for them too. Pirates, ninjas, dragons and a few robots here and there. but i can't seem to think of any on my own. they are all based on tv shows that i watch. in fact, i'm writing two stories about my ultimate favorite tv shows, but in my version. i'm not going to publish it or anything, just for my own amusement. they are One Piece and Naruto. but i made the story kinda look at my favorite character more than the real star of the show. my One Piece is mainly based on Sanji.  and my Naruto version is based on Sasuke Uchiha.  but i added a few changes to the already awesome characters. i made Sanji a demon and Sasuke an ice dragon. heh, the things i do to them. well anyways, that's basically what's been going down. see ya later and ROCK ON JESUS!!!
