Menu Plan Monday

Posted in Menu Monday

School's out! We take the month off. Although twice a week we will still do math, reading(phonics) and writing. I know, I know...still some schoolwork. But I want to keep up the momentum and I absolutely do not want to have to spend a week refreshing. =0) BUT no lesson plans, at least. =0) Just some worksheets for math and writing- here and there and reading with me!

I'll be making some goodies for gifts. Perhaps a few more sugar scrubs in varying scents. For those of you who emailed or posted and asked me- this is very frugal for me to do. Buying the approximate same size sugar scrub- that is natural-  can be costly. I buy essential oils and always have some on hand at all times. So for me, this scrub was easy. I went out and  purchased nothing. Essential oils run from a few dollars to $15 for an ounce or so- depending on the essential oil. Lavender is fairly inexpensive, while bergamot is a little more costly. It's 100% pure so a little goes a long, long way. I use tea tree and lavender essential oils-daily. We use them most often in place of things like Neosporin. Even so, one of those little bottles still last us over a year.

If you would like to make some sugar scrub and do not have essential oils, olive oil or even coconut oil- simply use oil that you cook with (avoid mineral oil aka baby oil) and plain old sugar. You may even try the oil with brown sugar and add a bit of cinnamon for a spicy scrub- but do not use this on your body.  The spices might burn sensitive skin parts.

Onto the menu!

~

Monday- Chilli, Corn Bread and Salad

Tuesday- Roasted Chicken, *Parmesan Garlic Pasta, Broccoli

Wednesday- People's Choice- Leftovers from Monday and Tuesday

Thursday- Eggs, Turkey Bacon, Fruit and Toast

Friday- Homemade Pizza

~

*Parmesan Garlic Pasta is such an eaasy non-recipe dish! Cook desired pasta (my people like silly shapes). Chop or mince some garlic. To the pasta add olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and parm cheese. YOU make this accordingly to your families tastes. The olive oil should get absorbed into the pasta and not be like an oily sauce. I like to use freshly grated parm cheese, as I do not need to use much and the flavor is wonderful!

Have a super week!!!

Sugar Scrubs are great. What a great gift to make. I'm sure the recipient will be very happy.
I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I am hosting a great contest for Homeschool Estore. Stop by for all the details.
