Spiders, LOTR facts, and "Enchanted"

Posted in Essays

(-Date: Friday, April 18th, 9:30 P.M. Pacific Time - Current mood: good Weather: Cloudy, 49 degrees F)

Today I saw 3 spiders today!   2 of these are the kind of spiders that are common in our area. They are the common "Lesser European House Spider".
LINK
The other one I found on my Math paper, a itsy bitsy lil red spider that I squished, and could never identify.

Here's something on the Lord of The Rings that my mom found, It pretty bad:
http://soldierservant.wordpress.com/2008/04/09/a-former-witch-looks-at-the-lord-of-the-rings/

OK, on "Enchanted".  This a pretty short review, since the movie was pretty short and it wasn't all too good. I liked the movie, but I thought the fairy-tale people were way too dumb! I mean, sure, they don't know what a car is, but they should know the emotion 'Anger'! The cartoon graphics were good, and the acting was ok, I like the Chipmunk the best! LOL
I rate his, uhh....., maybe a 5 or 6?
I want everybody from now on to put in their own opinions on the movies, k? I'd like to know what everybody thinks.

Here's a picture And the Link to the rest, again!

My Birthday is getting close! - The Matrix

Posted in Events

(Date: Thursday, April 3rd, 9:30 P.M. Pacific Time - Current mood: Happy Weather: Partly Cloudy, 50 degrees)

Hey everyone! What is happenin'? (to barrow the expression)
My Birthday is next week! Wahhoo! I don't know yet what I'm getting, but I'm pretty sure I know the most of it (As I have to pick some of it out). LOL
I'll be turning 16!

I watched "The Matrix"! I liked it!  We got it because it had a lot of stuff in in that could be classified as "Deceit", so it was educational. But the other 2 movies are a lot worse, so I might not watch them.
It's rated R

I like a lot of the parts, like all the cool Kung Fu moves, the running up walls, and the being able to stop bullets with your hands parts. But the plot wasn't very well made, as there are a lot of things in the movie it never tells you, which is annoying. And the fact that they stretch reality is weird, too. They say that they blew-up the sun, yet they still live on the planet Earth, that's not possible. And  a lot of other things are bad, too, but the graphics and FX effects are OK.
Here's 2 pictures and my usual link to my Album Blog:

The "Matrix"! (Technically I think it's Japanese, but don't tell anybody)

I'll write a Birthday entry next week. (on Wed. probably, cause Thursday is my B-day)

It's April Fools Day!!

Posted in Events

(Date: Tuesday, April 1st, 9:30 A.M. Pacific Time - Current mood: Great  Weather: Partly Cloudy, 40 degrees)

Here's some funny things! (non-facts and funny facts)  Please comment with your own April Fools Day experiences!

April Fools Day Trick to try:
Salt And Pepper Trick From
HERE
Unscrew the lids of the salt and pepper shakers, and fill the lids with salt and pepper, respectively. Then, tear or cut circles out of paper napkins to fit exactly over the lids. Holding the paper in place, carefully invert each lid and screw it onto the wrong shaker. The victim will see salt in the bottom of the shaker, but only pepper will come out, and vice versa.

Old Prank, #99 from
HERE:
In 1996 Virgin Cola announced that in the interest of consumer safety it had integrated a new technology into its cans. When the cola passed its sell-by date, the liquid would react with the metal in the can, turning the can itself bright blue. Virgin warned that consumers should therefore avoid purchasing all blue cans. The joke was that Pepsi had recently unveiled its newly designed cans. They were bright blue.

Wish this really would happen! From
HERE:
Google competitor Microsoft in the mean-time came up with a plan that’s so crazy it just might work, Search Engine Land reports. Instead of buying Yahoo to beat Google, they will pay people in the US $1 million per year to not use Google. A special program will monitor their web activity to ensure this. Danny Sullivan comments, “Absurdly expensive? It can seem that way at first, but consider the math. There’s an estimated 300 million people living in the United States. If you pay each one $1 million for the next three years, that’s just under $1 billion. That saves Microsoft $39 billion compared to what it was going to spend on purchasing Yahoo.” LOL

Nuclear Water Wonderland, from
HERE:
Just outside of Kelkar in Germany lies
a huge nuclear reactor that was ultimately never taken online. The SNR-300 ‘Fast Breeder’ (a neutron reactor that creates more fuel than it uses) was needed since Germany has a limited supply of uranium and wanted to limit imports.
However, by the mid eighties, the
disaster at Chernobyl and other political issues meant that development effectively stalled - the building was finished, but none of the radioactive materials were there; the government abandoned it, and the German taxpayer was effectively left with a concrete shell costing 3.5 billion euros.
When a dutch businessman bought the complex in 1995, he decided to turn it into a hotel and amusement park - ‘Kernwasser Wunderland’, which translates rather unappealingly to ‘Nuclear Water Wonderland.’ By far the coolest activity in my eyes has to be the ability to both go inside and free climb up the
huge painted cooling tower.
Despite the obvious stigma of holidaying at a Nuclear Power plant, over half a million people visit annually. And if you still have a nagging worry, you can be reassured by their slogan - “this whole complex guaranteed free of radiation!”

Find out more about the facility at
Wikipedia.

How's that for April Fools Day? What is everyone else doing today?

And on a more serious note, the CA court is reconsidering their movement to make homeschooling illegal!

A Video - Stargate "The Ark of Truth" pics link

(Date: Thursday, March 27th, 9:00 P.M. Pacific Time - Current mood: Great  Weather: Clear, 48 degrees)

Here is a cool video, have good Awareness!

I watched Stargate "The Ark of Truth". It was good, I liked the special Effects. But I don't know much about stargate, so some things were lost on me. LOL I rate this movie a 5 or 6 out of 10, since it doesn't really tell you what happened before, so you can't really watch it without a little knowledge of stargate. Here's a pictures and the link to the rest:

If you want pictures from this movie or any other movie I've seen (or you want pics I didn't put up), Ask me!
