Natural Cleaners, Herbal Remedies Inspired By God
Jul. 19, 2006
I am finally back, but......
I may not be posting on a daily basis anymore.  Probably every other day only.  During my time off I have learned (God has brought me to a new understanding) a few things about being a better keeper of the home, being a godly wife and a better example for my girls to learn by.

God has used two things to teach me these valuable lessons, one being His Word and the other being the family series "The Walton's".

One evening during my nightly reading of the Bible, I prayed that God would reveal to me how to be a better helpmeet for my husband?  At the time I was reading in the book of Eccl.  and I cannot specifically remember reading any verses in that Book on being a godly wife, but it came to me as clear as a bell.

I heard very clearly and loud a voice speaking to me,  "If I were to come into your house, how would you serve me?  Serve your husband as if you were serving me while I am sitting in your home."

I have no doubt as to who I was hearing.  I spent the rest of the night pondering over how I already serve my husband and how I can better serve him like I would Jesus.  One of the ways that I can is by spending less time on the computer and more time doing things during the day that I know will please him and have everything ready in comfort waiting for him when he gets home from a long hard day at work.

The next lesson was by watching The Walton's  with my girls.  Studying what made Olivia Walton a good wife and mother.

From  there I desired most of all to be that kind of wife and mother to my husband and girls.  And part of being that is by spending less time on the computer and more time with my family.  When my girls grow up and have families of their own, I want them to be able to look back and have memories of me spending time with them, teaching them, and laughing together.  I do not want them to remember that MOM was always on the computer, and never took the time for them.

So if you do not see any posts for a couple of days at a time, know that I am off having fun with my girls and being a wife.

In Him,
Cysco

What a great reminder of how to serve our husbands and familes. I try to limit my computer time to certain times a day too. One of them being after DS is in bed. My husband is not in the home but if he were, I would be doing exactly what you are.

I tried vinegar for my dandruff and I just want to say THANK YOU. It seems to be working and working well.

good for you for committing to what really matters to you! you have decided to do what the Lord would have you do instead of just what feels good at the time. what a great example you are setting for your girls. : )

May God bless you in your efforts to be all that he created you to be! Had to chuckle about the Walton's wife, I did the same with Little House on the Prairie, gotta love netflix. Now, we no longer have a TV, which is great...though I do miss that family! ;)

The voice you heard, about "How would you serve ME if I were to walk into your home" is a very convicting question I have pondered many times myself. It is so powerful to have that vision in your mind! I pray it will propel you to suceed in being a perfectly suitable (read: not perfect) helpmeet to your dh.

My biggest challenge is not to make decisions for my "Mr. Steady" that seems will never make them timely enough.....*sigh* ..... yes, you have guessed it I am not good with my patience and have to work on this so much!!!!!

Hugs,
Jenn
