Feb. 15, 2006 - Today's FlyLady goals
Posted in FlyLady

On Mondays FlyLady does her "Weekly Blessing Hour". Well, for me it is a "weakly" blessing hour.  It becomes a goal for things to get done sometime ...this week...  or next week even...

Anyway, I am going to try to click off a couple of the weekly blessing hour items today, plus a few dailies.

1) empty all trash cans

2) vacuum

3) mirrors

4) dusting

The further I get into the list, the less likely it is to get done.  Also today I need to do:

1) unload dishwasher

2) do a few loads of laundry

3) homeschool son

4) shuttle dd from metro to apptment, then from apptment to home

5) fix stew for dinner; serve with rolls, salad?

Done so far:

1) made bed

2) shuttled dd#2 to class

3) started to unload dishwasher, but re-ran it cause the soap was still there from last night, so it must not have run right.

Flylady's Home Blessing really do help me keep on top of things at home. So, why am I not doing them right now? :-) I feel like I need to "dig out from under" first! I saw your entry title on 'last100' and checked it out. I really need to get back to this. Thanks for the reminder!

Well I am doing that "Random Blog Friday" thing, and came across yours -- we have a few things in common.

Flylady is one. Our ages is another. Our ages plus older AND younger children is another.

Your description of school requirements/your lesson plan book/what you actually do is another.

I hear you on the K book/patterns etc. These books assume that children know nothing and start from there. We can't be slaves to these books, but let them be our tool and not be afraid to skip ahead.

Ruth Beechick has become my hero, and I am inclined now towards learning goals rather than following curriculum materials, for some of the very reasons you mentioned.

Good to meet you!

Deb

P.S. I have NO IDEA why I said "Random Blog Friday." It isn't Friday, but it is Random Blog day. I guess I am way too random.
