Dailey Blessings

Sep. 19, 2006 - Ahh! Now I get it!

I tried to donate blood last night at a local Red Cross donation center while the kids were at Choir.  My hematocrit came in too low to donate!  Now I know why I have been feeling so tired!  Low iron.  So the first order of business this week is to start eating properly again.  However, spinach will NOT be on the menu.

R came home from Chicago yesterday.  It was so good to have him back and it was so nice to know that he missed us.  Most times I feel like we just really annoy him, so this was a nice change.  My parents got their car back from the repair shop, the rental returned, had lunch with us and were on their way.  I loved having them here for lunch and it made me sad again that we live so far away.

J and I did her math yesterday before my folks got here.  Today we are going on a field trip to a local orchard for a scarecrow festival, hayride, pick a pumpkin, etc. and then lunch at their restaurant.  We won't have much of an academic school day here, but it will certainly be fun to meet up with some of our home schooling friends and be outside in some nice fall weather. Ohhhh brrr, it's only 44 right now and 51 will be the high. OK, so the lesson today will be how to dress in layers.

I'm glad God lead you to give blood so you could find out what the problem was. I take a multivitamin most days (which has iron in it) but you don't want to take too much iron. When I was pregnant with my third (and last baby) my iron was the highest that they had ever seen in a pregnant woman at their facility. I was eating Grape-Nuts several times a day (a craving I had with all my kids) and I guess it helped my iron level. Can't stand Grape-Nuts now, isn't that funny? I hope you can get your iron level up and be feeling better soon. Take care!

I pray you are feeling better! The field trip sounds like fun! When I read the temperatures, I couldn't help but think how my husband would love it there. Here in OK we still have days with no need for a jacket. Take care!

Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I was severly anemic when I was pregnant with Elijah and Floradix Iron+Herbs brought my levels right back up.
