A friend of the family made me a smocked dress. I always felt like a princess whenever I wore that dress.
What handmade gift have you always wanted to tackle?
Fruitcake. I know that sounds silly, but my mom really likes it and she used to make it at Christmas time when I was a kid. I would like to make some for her.
What was the best Christmas gift you received as a child?
The Little People Village. I used to play with that thing for hours. I hate that my parents didn't keep it.
What items are on your kid’s wish list this year?
With 3 girls, anything girly. Any I mean anything girly.
What is your favorite holiday food?
Chocolate covered cherries. As soon as the Christmas stuff is put on the shelf I start looking for the chocolate covered cherries.
What will you be hand-crafting for the holidays?
I made my girls Christmas outfits.
What is your favorite holiday movie?
It's a Wonderful Life and Holiday Inn. Both are such classics.
Favorite holiday song?
Away in a Manger.
Favorite holiday pastime?
When I was a kid we wouldn't get our tree until Christmas Eve and we would decorate it right before we went to bed. We would watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate while we decorated it. It always made everything so exciting and real for us as kids. I loved doing Christmas that way and honestly I thought everyone did it that way. I was shocked when I got older and found out that some people put their tree up after Thanksgiving.
So now that I have answered the questions, check out all the prizes and then go answer the questions and register yourself.
A few weeks ago, on a whim, I decided to start a blog about about our "Daily Adventures" with homeschooling and really everything else in our life. My best friend seems to think that I have funny stories about our daily lives, so why not other people or maybe I just thought it would be fun, either way here I am. My next decision was were to start. After all this was just a whim, I hadn't really thought this out. So after way too long of trying to come up with my first post, I decided I would try again in the morning. Well a few weeks later and I finally knew where I would start, at the end.
We just finished our school year and it feels great! I have successfully (in my opinion) home schooled my
kindergartener . Yeah and she can read! When we decided to home school, I was very excited about it, but at the same time it is a lot to think that I am solely responsible for what my child learns. I can't blame how she turns out on anyone, but myself. But we got through the year and had a great time doing it. So while I am excited about summer break, I am also excited about planning the next school year. And most importantly, I am excited that I am solely responsible for what my child learns and I can't blame how she turns out on anyone, but myself.
